And speaking of psychotic conservative groups, Louis, the Family Research Council is now talking about Don't Ask, Don't Tell. You're gonna love this. Tony Perkins, we know Tony Perkins on this show. His new logic about repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell is going to blow you away. And let me get it set up for you here, because it's just... it's not... I can't understand what he's talking about, and maybe you can. Take a listen.

Tony Perkins: You've been in the military since 1996, you've seen various theatres of action. What are your concerns as you reflect on the conversations you've had with others in uniform?

Benjamin Ratcliff: Yes, sir. Well, everybody knows that the military lives in close quarters. Whenever you get a group of men and women who are deployed, privacy goes out of the window. There are a lot of fiscal issues, financial stuff. I got with me a card here, it's the Soldier's Creed. It has the Warrior Ethos on it. And part of the Warrior Ethos says, "I will always place the mission first." And I think that by using the military to advance the social agenda, I think they're not placing the mission first. Like the General here previously said, the purpose of the military is to uphold and defend the Constitution. And I don't believe that's happening.

Perkins: As a recruiter, you know that in an all-volunteer force, it's very difficult to meet those quotas, to keep the ranks filled with the young men and women who are willing to serve. Is this going to make it easier or is it going to make it harder?

Ratcliff: Absolutely not. It's going to make it very much harder, very much harder.

Perkins: And this is going to be at the forefront of many of those parents' minds.

Ratcliff: Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And recruiting and retention is at the top of all the commanders' list. Every commander across all the Armed Forces, recruiting is a top priority for all of them. So this would definitely degrade that fight.

David: OK.

Louis: Ridiculous. The social agenda! He's saying that letting gays serve is a social agenda and not putting the mission first.

David: Right.

Louis: But it's the exact opposite.

David: But forget about... You're absolutely right, but there's an even dumber argument being made by the very despicable Tony Perkins. He's suggesting that we would need the draft if Don't Ask, Don't Tell is repealed because we just wouldn't get enough people. Does he have any idea how many people have been discharged, turned away, or just never applied to the military because of Don't Ask, Don't Tell? It's amazing. I mean, Don't Ask, Don't Tell being repealed could prevent us from even needing a draft. That's the reality. This is a case where Tony Perkins doesn't just get it slightly wrong, but it's the exact opposite. It's 180 degrees different... or 360 degrees different, as Sarah Palin would say. He is just completely wrong on this one.

We've already done a study, and even though John McCain doesn't like it, as we talked about, he says it's the wrong study, we need another study, we need hearings, the study is very clear. There would be no negative effects, no mass exodus, it might even help the military. Who could imagine, Louis? Repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell could actually help the military.

Louis: Fancy that.

David: It's incredible.

4. The same half ass, fantasy based talking points used
against the integration of African Americans and women into the armed services.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

5. Tony Perkins is deep in the closet.
Mark my words. In the next five or so years, he will be busted at a gay bath house.
