8. That would be true;
If there had been no allegations beforehand of this topic. As it is, he repeatedly says that these are only allegations and has gotten 2 ministers, one on each side of the controversy, to debate what the outcome could be if it were true. Come on, I'd say that almost everybody at DU knows the difference between 'reporting and gossip.' Gossip would be if this show was the first to report any pubic hair involvement. As it is, this has become national news. I'm sure you just had a knee jerk reaction. Maybe some retrospective thinking will have you coming around.

3. Can't we just cut out the middleman and equate "Virulantly Homophobic"
with Blatanly Homosexual? There are only so many times that you can read the same book without figuring out how it ends. :)

4. I have no interest that these men are gay-I am angry that they are liars
in their own lives, and are persecuting others who are honest and healty about their own sexuality.

The sickness is in the deceit and self hatred these men display, and the total lack of any ethics or simple honesty or self respect in either of them.

Of course, they are professional bullshitters-"religious" thieves and liars- as well, so I guess that should be added...

6. Oh we have such fun with these mega-church leaders, I personally think they are all
Narcissistic personalities, gay, bi straight, whatever, they are very much all hypocrites.

14. Did anyone watch "WEEDS" on Showtime...
When they had "All Truth Ministries" the mega church or The ATM Church? I love that show but have missed the past few seasons.

10. "You can't use your religion to tyrannize others"--Ted Haggard
Well, obviously all these gay priests and preachers didn't get that memo. Nor did Ted. What a bunch of weasels.

16. Church for that type of megachurch religious 'christian' is a place to go be seen, make money, find
a date, etc... so it's not shocking to see a whopping 25,000 people be perfectly fine that their minister drives a $300000 car around and has black diamonds stashed in his office....

nothing odd about that!

The disciples of Christ were all about haute couture, don't you know?

NOT!

15. (SARCASM) Religion has NEVER been used to terrorize others. (SARCASM)
Of coarse they defend each other. Right wing "christian" slime always stick together, when they aren't sticking each other. I hate these damn people more every day.

17. I can't even listen to the dude, he is such a self-hater. big surprise he's defending someone who
apparently is just like he was! Screaming about the sins of being gay, but being someone entirely worse than someone who's honestly brave in being who they are, and instead is someone who hides in the closet, send photos of himself in tight shirts to teen boys and preaches about Gays needing to get saved & turning over their bodies to him as their "spiritual daddy"...

barf.

He embarrasses himself, not Jesus. Although I'm sure Jesus weeps about the things done in His name every day! The fact that the guy is worth millions screams fraud to me! Let alone his ego and focus on his body so much he sends pics to the young guys of himself, and drives around in a Bentley or whatever 350K car! Shame is on that 'church'.

18. A large part of the job entrusted to a minister in the Christian
church is the teaching of moral responsibilies. It is the height of hypocrisy for a supposed man-of-the cloth, such as Ted Haggard, to have condemned others for the acts he has engaged in himself while preaching against those acts.
Now he wishes to justify his 'life of sin' by calling it a growing experience/re.human condition in the pursuit of his 'heavenly grace' of some sort.
For him to equate himself with a politician who fails to pay his taxes is disgusting. The politician does not have the responsibility of guiding his followers on the pathway to 'salvation'.
There outta' be a law.....

19. yes, good post. he should refrain from ever being a member of the clergy since he not only
broke a covenant of attacking people as a minister for things he was doing in a more perverse manner (wasn't just having a relationship with a man, he was a married man who hired male prostitute/s) and that to me screams 'don't you dare say you're starting a new church'. ya know? shameful
