12. Exactly. It used to be if the least of us is in chains, we're all in chains. But one millionaire
with a gripe against the other. And why wouldn't one millionaire sell to another black green or purple? He didn't want to be a mansion block buster? There's just not something right here.
Jesus freaking christ! It's not about the money, it's about the racism. This could have just as easily (and does) to someone buying a $75K house. The fact that it happened to a rich african american only helps bring to light that this kind of bull shit goes on all the time.
That the white couple is at least 60, probably over 70. Grew up in the era when it wasn't socially acceptable to sell your house to people the neighbors would consider "undesirable". Takes a long time for civil rights laws to become the new norm of "socially acceptable".
The family looking to buy was a local comedian/celebrity as well. It's in Bridgeport, the old school neighborhood where Mayor Daley grew up. The agent is in deep water and yes, consequences are forthcoming. The people who own the house had family next door and around the neighborhood. The whole thing is shameless and embarrassing. I am a Realtor and believe me when I say Fair Housing is supposed to be the most important thing when doing your job. This agent failed miserably.
