(Ignore the You Tube Channel I found this on :-)

Why are we having to FIGHT the Coast Guard and the government to protect the Gulf? I am absolutely stunned over the coverup and willing disregard going on with regards to this horrible ongoing disaster.

1. If there is a cover up ...
the oil is still there and will eventually cause major problems.

If so, BP's oil gusher will do as much (or more) damage to Obama as Bush's handling of Katrina. I doubt that Obama is that foolish or out of touch.

Still, it does appear that a lot of people at high levels in the Coast Guard and the administration are kissing BP's ass. Appearances can be deceiving and the media seems to be doing its typical worthless reporting, so its hard to tell.

But time will tell.

3. It just seems unbelievable to try to assign some 'evil' ulterior motive to all
that is going on in the Gulf. I've never considered myself a conspiracy theorist. But it simply defies logic. Thanks for the response :-)

4. Thanks for this info.
It feels like something real stinky is going on in DC/"the Hill". Nothing makes sense. I was hoping that one day we'd actually elect someone who remembered they are a citizen first, president second, thus telling us the facts behind decisions that filter down so we could review the result and compare to the original intent. (dejected sigh)

why tip yr hat to a greedy republican pig, he screwed me over and he'll screw you over too unless you're a gadzillionaire, if you've got a million dollar home have it assessed for peanuts and pay no property tax, own a $90K home and have it assessed for twice that and pay thru the nose

kevin davis is a thief, like every other public official in st. tammany parish

how do you know he's lying? his lips are moving

if you can't afford to pay these guys off, you get fucked with, and right now it looks to me that he's damn mad there's no oil in the lake, he's trying to figure a way to get some BP money

7. "we" are not fighting the coast guard, GOP fuckwit kevin davis is fighting the coast guard
Edited on Sat Aug-14-10 12:50 AM by pitohui
why don't people read/view for comprehension

kevin davis is a good old republican fuckwit out for himself like all the rest-- he's just better dressed and better spoken because he's the republican fuckwit president of st. tammany parish

the guy's a scumbag, let's not forget how he was "going to do well by doing good" HIS OWN WORDS -- by trying to put a fucking casino in st. tammany parish ON HIS RICH PAL'S PROPERTY even tho gambling is illegal in st. tammany and not one person in the parish other than he, his fuck buddy, and david duke wanted a casino there --

sheesh, he's one of the bad guys, why are we surprised that bad guys try to self-promote and dramatize themselves?

he's tired of nungesser getting all the attention, he talks prettier and he dresses better than nungesser so it's just soooooo unfair -- hell, nungesser may be steps out of the klan but at least their plaquemines did actually get "oiled," davis is just trying to ride someone else's troubles back into the spotlight, it has been too long since esquire or who-the-fuck-ever voted him the "best dressed" politician of katrina...

i'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the coast guard has done a damn good job of keeping the oil out of lake ponchartrain and out of st. tammany parish and davis is trying to scramble to find a way to get his hands on some of that BP money...

9. Are these people up for election?
If so, then this is a really great dead horse to ride into November. The CG and contractors have been looking and haven't found a sheen or slick to be skimmed or aabsorbed in well over a week, going on two. The dispersed "missing" oil is not about to gather itself up into a slick and go on a march to shore, the laws of physics, specifically thermodynamics does not allow for this possibility. In short, the entropy involved in dilution has taken over.

There is no longer a threat that barges and booms are at all useful for. These measures should be removed to eliminate their environmental impact once the bottom kill procedure is complete, and no further oil has been spilled. There is some miniscule but greater-than-zero risk of a spill during bottom kill. They should not spend to remove the measures until the procedure is complete on the tiny risk that the spill resumes and the measures are needed. Once the annulus is truly and fully grouted, this risk drops to zero and the measures should be removed.

While hysterics can be fun, one cannot coverup oil landing on the beaches, not with all the media ready to pounce on any trace they can image. There is no ongoing disaster. To the extent a disaster has happened, it is roughly fully realized at this point and the barges and booms have served their purpose. It will shortly be time for them to go.

12. Let's move on...
Edited on Sat Aug-14-10 10:46 AM by Roy Rolling
First of all...there is a miniscule amount of oil in St. Tammany parish so this is political grandstanding. Using a nuclear weapon to protect your 7-11 grocery is way overkill as is his stance. Keeping barges in place until November 30 (4 1/2 months after the leak was stopped) and not being flexible to scientifically assess the threat is a political stunt.

As a staunch Republican, he is just taking a political stance against the boogie-man federal government as represented by the Coast Guard. As was said in a recent movie: "put away your d**ks, boys, the pissing contest is over."

We in Louisiana want to move on and not make a cottage industry out of being victims as is the case with Hurricane Katrina. Leaders who do not do this are often derilect in their duty at best, and at worst, are feeding private contractors that benefit from unnecessary spill-related contracts and are big supporters of politicos.
