1. ...
Cenk will be hosting MSNBC Live Monday August 2nd though Friday August 6th from 3-4pm Eastern, 12-1pm Pacific. Watch Live or set your DVR/TiVo to record the shows!

PS---In case you didn't know, Cenk now has two regular segments each week. He appears every Tuesday in the latter half of the Dylan Ratigan show (after 4:30pm ET/1:30pm PT) for the Daily Rant Segment, and every Friday after 3pm ET/12pm PT on MSNBC Live.

2. Highly recommended.

If you can stomach John and Kira rubbing themselves.

If nothing else, I've noticed how CNN takes time out to love itself publicly, and I didn't have to read that on a bathroom wall.

I have a relative who as of last fall still thought CNN was a nicely balanced network, perhaps this will help in my argument to convince otherwise.

CNN must consider that "balance" their "product", but they just fail to deliver much news.

9. More like each other...
CNN does not seem to have a problem with married anchors, do they...
Actually the 1st anchor team 30 years ago was a husband and wife team, currently in Sacramento
Dave Walker/Lois Hart.

now John Roberts/Kyra Phillips
John King/Dana Bash

3. Great take, Cenk!
Of course CNN doesn't like the internet. They know we don't respect their misinformation.

5. Of course. At one time the BBC was the worlds most respected news source.
At one time...

6. Trolls will be trolls
The point is not to feed them. To paint the internet in one broad stroke is wrong because it is nothing more than a reflection of the real world. The real world has good people and bad people and so does the web...

8. They love the internet. They just think it should be one-way.
They love the internet and they think they should own it. They want you to feel like you're participating by putting comments on air occasionally and letting you have your little flame wars in their comments section, that brings page views and attention.

What they DON'T like is independent media. There's an entry barrier for TV and radio that keeps independent media out, and they're hoping to make it the same for the internet. It's about preserving their monopoly.

And seriously, they're going to try to play neutral and whine about "extremists on both sides" like that Wingnuts guy? Ridiculous. Liberal independent media has no voice. Right-wing internet lies get spread all over, with the aid of Fox News and the rest of the mainstream media who follow them around like lost puppies.

10. Let's see. The Federalist Papers were originally published under
pseudonyms. George Sand was a pseudonym. Benjamin Franklin loved to publish letters in his newspaper -- that were written by him under pseudonyms. Voltaire used a pen name. These are just a few important instances in which people published but not under their legal names.

Here on DU, the administrators know our real names.

I use a pseudonym here because I want to be able to speak my mind without fearing reprisals from crazy right-wingers. I do not have a network protecting me from crazies. I do not live in a penthouse or gated community. I live on an ordinary street in an ordinary neighborhood.

Here on DU, we state our opinions and theories, but we very few of us know facts that aren't generally known by the public. We have the same right to speak of our opinions and theories however wrong they may be as do the folks on Fox News who spout a lot of very questionable information.
