[Systematic Chaos]

Paraphrasing Thom Hartmann, "the mostly minority area, inner city markets charged 40% more for a list of 20 basic food items than the upscale market in the outer suburbs."

No wonder eating shit from the fast food "Value Menus" every day is cheaper for many of these people.

they were no decent fresh fruit and grocery stores within normal walking distance.

Inner city people have much trouble finding anything except Liquor stores and Jack In the Box fast food.

4. I Dunno...

This is an economic issue as much as anything else. Truth in advertising is apparently a Communist ideal. Beyond that, Libertarianism is a mental disorder.

5. Typical elitest attitude from someone who cannot relate to

those who are poor. He is living in a dream world where there are no children who don't have the same advantages that his children have. And if they don't, it's their own fault. And Corporations are God! They can do no wrong ...

As far as banning ads, I'm not sure what I think about that or if it's even possible or would work for that matter. But I would imagine that if a community gets together and decides to protect their children from Corporate irresponsibility they have the right to do so. As much right as this guy thinks Corporations have to BE irresponsible.

I give Thom credit for having patience with people like this. He is simply not open to any acknowledgement of the fact that economic status actually does have an impact on people's lives and how they make decisions.

I think it should be mandatory for all Republicans to spend a year living in poverty because without actually experiencing it, they appear to be unable to empathize or understand people who do.
