54% of American adults are in favor of impeaching Vice President Dick Cheney, according to a recent American Research Group poll. Amongst Democrats specifically, 76% favor impeachment, yet for some reason Dennis Kucinich is the only Democratic presidential candidate willing to represent this overwhelming majority. The great disparity between public support and political support is also evident with regards to universal not-for-profit healthcare, of which Dennis is again the only candidate to stand for the vast majority of Americans who favor such a system.

Don't lose heart! A couple of days ago I found myself thinking - why not just accept that the democratic party is still too afraid of the conservatives to nominate a true progressive candidate? 'Just move on and support one of the more centrist candidates', I thought.

I had been extolling the virtues of Dennis Kucinich to friends and relatives (and relative strangers on the internet) for weeks. A lot of them said they didn't know anything about him as they were telling me which of the top tier they were going to vote for.

But then I heard from a few of them. They'd seen him either in one of the debates or in an interview and felt he really has the right message. They've changed their minds and are planning to vote for him in the primary.

Now I think the notion of Kucinich for president is starting to catch on.
