In 2008, Democrats across the country were elected in landslide victories to clean up the mess left by the Republicans. Almost 2 years later, the American public is fed up with Democrats in Washington who, in spite of their Congressional majorities, still want to appease the GOPs every whim. Thats why we're seeing a flurry of actual progressive candidates spring up all over the country to challenge the conservative Democrats that refuse to stand up to the GOP. Mike Papantonio recently spoke to one of those progressive candidates Marcy Winograd who is running to unseat Conserva-Dem Representative Jane Harman in California.

2. Name one Dem whose voting record is actually as bad as even the best GOPer
Edited on Mon May-03-10 01:18 PM by dmallind
Go on - prove that claim.....

In fact since I know full well you can't I'll actually use facts.

The lowest vote with party ranking amongst Dems is Lampson with 82.3%

The lowest Republican is Gilchrest with 74%. So we have a best possible Republican voting with Dems 26% of the time and the a worst possible Dem voting with them 82% of the time with a MINIMUM differential of 58%

So no - only an idiot would think the worst Dem is equal to the best GOPer.

3. Maybe it more than that...
The behavior of ShitDems has been devastating to legislation, such as health care. Not to mention the President. It's more than just a voting record.

4. i agree, repukes are true enemies of the people while
conservodems are most of the time just trying to survive in conservative blue collar districts. It is good politics to challenge them with challengers who can actually win the general. It is bad if the end result is to replace them with republicans.

5. The point is to get GOOD and GREAT Dems, not mediocre ones...
... and they mediocre and compromised Dems are responsible for very little of the progressive (or as many would say, traditional Democratic) agenda moving forward. The Repubs run headlong into very bad policy. We have to fight tooth and nail for anything remotely benefiting the majority of the citizens and the health of our country.

So true, the people that stand by and watch the fire are not as bad as those who SET the fire, but pathetic compared to those willing to put out the fire, prevent further damage, move us forward, etc.

We really have to more time to waste on worthless placeholders..

7. Don't forget Doug Tudor in FL-12. DCCC is supporting a Blue Dog in the primary...
to take Putnam's open seat. They'd rather back a DINO than a real progressive.
