A crazy, cock-eyed telephone. Not that she is a telephone, that would be silly, a person can't be a telephone. So no, she isn't literally a telephone. Still, for some reason when I think of Virginia Foxx I just think of a telephone. Sorry, can we edit this? You won't tell anyone I'm gay will you?

6. Why did they green screen images of drapes behind them? How odd.

If you're going to only have a drapery backdrop, why no just hang a drape in the studio? If they're going to do a green screen, surely they could come up with something more appropriate than monochrome drapes. Why not a library with an American flag behind them, or a shot of inside the Capitol building?

But the worst part is the proportions. They do a normal head shot of the video testimonials against a green screen, then project it onto a background that's an extreme close up of those monochrome drapes. The net effect is to make it look like these are teensy tiny little Congresspeople endorsing Virginia Foxx. I almost expect the microbial version of John Boehner to say "Re-elect Virginia Foxx, she's the only Republican who can reach the door knob."
