1. She's right, her right wing culture of hate is clearly inferior to pretty much every other one

She's a racist.

6. That was confirmed a long time ago
. . . when she urged the media to investigate "anti-American" members of Congress.

13. Doesn't Bill Maher kind of agree with her (minus the French baiting)
Much as I'm loathe to defend this crazy person, but what's the difference between what she's saying above and Bill Maher's saying here (3mins 38 in)

15. I think you missed Bill's point .
He's talking about our Democratic system. He's not saying whites are better than blacks.
He actually states. "Rights for minorities are better."

Bachman is referring to it in a racist type of way. Like she doesn't want any minorities around her.

21. My answer is close to Shark's Breath
Bill Maher is defending democratic values against authoritarian values. Michele Bachmann is an authoritarian; she believes she is the authority on what is American and that those who have a different ideas are "anti-American."

Furthermore, she is using a slippery slope fallacy (e.g., if we legalize marijuana, the next thing you know we will legalize cocaine and then heroin). This is a flaw of many of her arguments. Here, she says if immigrant minorities in France do not assimilate, France will become an Islamic country and it could happen in the United States, too. Not only does it not necessarily follow that France will become an Islamic country if the daughters of Arab immigrants in France are allowed to wear head scarves in school (my example, not Mrs. Bachmann's), Mrs. Bachmann is playing on the fears her audience has for aliens.

I have bones to pick with Mr. Maher as well, usually over his militant atheism. It can be as annoying as Mrs. Bachmann's militant fundamentalist Christianity and it is the subtext of much of what he is saying in that video clip.

7. And what does that have to do with diversity?
And Bachmann seems to come from an agar culture on a petri dish -- not at all equal to other cultures? ;-)

14. Oh Dear
She has no clue. Seriously. If she thinks that what the riots were caused by in France a few years ago was Al Jazeera????? That woman needs to as Rep Grayson would say: STFU. I stopped watching half way through because I knew she was unfamiliar with the topic, and going off of some talking points a jack ass staffer gave her. Lo and behold the talking points were incorrect. She uses the word 'suburbs' as if they were the 'suburbs' of the US. She no clue. Now I stopped listening half way through her idiocracy - that's pretty much what I do these days when the media shows stupid people: Palin, Bachmann, Beck, etc. etc. I've been known to turn off K.O. because he's giving these idiots airtime . . .

But I think even having turned it off? She probably has no clue about the difference in racial tensions between Marseille and Paris. Or Lyon and Paris. Or Nice and Paris. And she has no idea to the core causes behind those tensions, the unemployment, the rise of Le Pen, Bridgette Bardot's constantly being told to go to the jail house, etc. etc.

Elle est stupide!

from a safe far-away distance, she comes up with big theories about people who she's never met and places she's never been too.

And what a liar! Um yeah those French "suburban hi-rise" ghettos are real luxurious and comfortable.

It's not like it's over-crowded or anyone there languishes in poverty or has no where else to go.

.. or it's not like, back in 05 under Chirac, there was virtually no equal opportunity of employment for any resident lucky enough to have been born into such splendor

:sarcasm:

She is insufferable. What an ignorant woman

19. She must know better than the french intelligence services...
In a report in 2005 about the riots they wrote:
"France has experienced a form of unorganized insurrection with the emergence in time and space of a popular uprising of the suburbs, leaderless and without any proposed program. Youth in the suburbs were inhabited by a strong sense of identity not based solely on their ethnicity or geography, but on their social condition excluded from French society."

18. say what you want - the right wing is winning, even when they are losing
day in and day out their message is heard - over and over. Have you noticed just a slight rightward bent to the democratic party - it would be more accurately called "hard to starboard".

Republicans put their best shock troops out and soften us up - they desensitize us with their constant messages of fear and hate. And like all advertising - it works and we go along.

The republicans do all the heavy lifting establishing national policy direction and democrats follow along in the slip stream just a small click to the left so they can look "centered".

Today's "democrat" is like an early Reagan neo-con. Its an odd hybrid of neo-con/neo-lib philosophy at work, fucking over the middle class, worshiping the rich, punishing the poor.

So - people can complain all they want about tea baggers and loons like this. Even when they lose they win and they were extremely effective at getting almost everything they wanted out of HCR and gave it zero votes. Just think about what they could have done if they actually cooperated!
