1. The Tea Party folks have a lot in common with the people who bought the revolutionary war

1) They're poor
2) They're white
3) Most are middle-aged
4) They're racist, whether overtly or through general bias
5) They look fucking stupid in those outfits
6) They're throwing their time, their money, their effort, and their fervor into a cause that serves only to make them worse off, and enrich the people who are keeping them poor and ignorant.

2. more like the civil war

and it's not a "grassroots movement". it's a movement of self indulged dumb people who don't understand anything and are whipped into a frenzy by empty headed corporate spokes models on TV. the revolution was started by a small minority that was very smart and aware of what was going on. the tea party will last until the day FOX News and Dick Armey's lobby firm are investigated by the FBI for seditious activity and incitement to sedition, and that day is drawing closer by the hour ;)

Rich people duping poor people into thinking it's their cause, too. Only the poor people fight, though.
