1. Gotta go with Cenk on this one.
The perpetrators should have hurt, but they didn't. And that is bullshit!

And have we regulated the derivatives yet? No we have not.

And Barney Frank suggests that the reform bill is weak on derivatives. Barney talks as if the Democrats are helpless in regulating derivatives. Again I claim bullshit.

2. What a sap
This Michael Shure sure has a lot more reading about economics to do. Maybe he would sound less ignorant if he could memorize a few Max Keiser talking points --
These are financial terrorists! They hold the economy hostage and threaten to blow it up unless they get their bailout!

What was the other option? Do like FDR and declare a bank holiday. Close the stock market for one week, during which the "stress tests" would be applied to see which issues could begin trading again. Companies that were "too big to fail" would be nationalized immediately, and maybe parts of it could be privatized to pay back the guarantor of the bailout (the evil gub'mint).

3. I like your proposals. Geithner to me is a caricature of all that is bad in DC bureaucracy.
False analogies, false logic of all kinds, dense and confusing language, bobbing and weaving with every question.

If I'd been Obama, Geithner would have been the first guy I would have fired. Then, I would have demanded that he not set foot anywhere within a 500 mile radius of DC or NYC.

Summers would have been next to be cashiered.
