This is a topical song first performed at the Montreux Jazz festival in 1969. While most topical songs fade and die when the world moves on, this one is just as appropriate 41 years later as it was in 1969. If you manage to stay in your chair, you've got rocks in your socks.

The 1969 version is also at You Tube.

2. Radio SingSing played it a little while ago
I looked for my copy but I imagine that's one I wore out years ago and could never find a new one.

3. I have not gotten into the internet music thing - my daughter helps me out by handling that
for me.

Saw Les & Eddie at the Hampton Jazz Festival (offshoot of Newport) back in the early 70s. Went for several years and heard so many great musicians, from Stevie and BB to War, Kenny Burrell and an unknown young woman named Roberta "something" who also blew everyone away. She came back the following year to headline.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

And I too have some LPs that are less-than-pristine after all these decades. Thank goodness for the net.

4. Sing Sing also plays an amazing version of this featuring a female singer
('fraid I don't remember who...)

I (heart) Radio Sing Sing... :hi:
