In case you haven't read it yet, "Fiasco" documents the failures of intelligence and post-war planning in Iraq. The post-war planning and counter-insurgency lessons are particularly relevant for the current war in Afghanistan.

Ricks is an excellent journalist.

Wolfowitz incompetence is so bad it was an act of treason.

My summary - troops did a great job. The incompetent civilian leadership fucked up everything they touched.
