Pretty good quick summary of the gigantic full body scanner infomercial that has been going on in the last few days within the MSM
Personally i wont go through these machines, ill sooner find an alternative route.
This could really hurt the airline industry

see only the exterior surfaces of the body.

I know of instances in which prison inmates have concealed weapons, tools, narcotics and implements in their rectums. A few ounces of PETN in a condom could easily be secreted there.

There also is the example of feminine sanitary napkins and tampons.

Seriously, I see this as a done deal. A lot of republicans must have stock in the companies that supply the hardware.

On the bright side; I think that this event will make a lot of frequent fliers lose weight. After all, human nature, what it is, will have TSA cowboys selling and/or giving away copies of scanned beauties. I see new web sites popping up with scanned babes of the week, etc...

We've been frogs heating up in this pot of water, gradually adding one more thing and one more thing to have to endure to have the "joy" of flying somewhere. When will the public say "enough" and stop traveling or find another way to get there?

Why don't they just go all the way and handcuff each of us to our seats for the duration of the flight? Somehow that would seem a little more dignified than having security guards looking at all of us naked!

Oh, and does this mean that we will at least be able to keep our shoes on during this "strip search"? Not likely!


In my opinion all of this security nonsense is designed to make the passenger feel like they are being kept safe. This is apparently not the case.

and it doesn't bother me in the least. Nor would dogs inspecting me.

People cry privacy and I think it's more about simply being uncomfortable for whatever the reason. For some there may be an element of good old sexually repressive religious programming. Some do associate shame and disgust with the naked body. These things do see your body and it's nothing like a regular photograph.

So some would rather possibly be blown up and risk the lives of close to 300 some people to the same because they don't want to deal with feeling briefly uncomfortable. That's both selfish and infantile.

Will these or dogs catch everything? No, and that's no reason to keep with our current half-assed approach.

It would help if folks on a watch list would be flagged by a computer when they did something like buy a one way ticket with cash and without any luggage.

7. First I wish to point out that even low doses of gamma rays...

x-rays etc are considered highly damaging to cells and cancer causing.
Those that have to fly a lot due to work etc...will be dying horrible deaths from cancers and tumers from so many exposures.
Secondly:
I am not happy about this as the thought of some little pervert in a
dark room looking at my children and my spouses naked bodies just because we want to go visit grandma makes me feel sick to my stomach.
What will they be asking us at check in?...
"Did you let anyone else pack your balls?"
"Did you leave your wife's breasts laying around where someone else could have access to them?"
"Did you check your child's underwear for explosives or let anyone else put explosives in their shorts and are you going to object when we look in their underwear?"
What about the fluids in fake breasts or in a male's testicles? Will they have to have access to check them for explosives?
If they can strip search you or film you naked simply for flying...won't our children's schools be next?
Will they be following us into the office and taking full nude shots there to make sure we aren't stealing office supplies in our body cavities?
I am joking around but I do seriously want to know...where does this insanity end?
