1. I make a pledge.
As long as I live, if I have a choice, I will never give one dime of my money to the private health insurance industry. There will be non profit cooperatives. These coops could be just the weapon if we unite. When given the choice I will have my family on one of these plans. This is our chance to kill this industry, this tick of an industy. We have enormous power but in a way we failed. We let the teabaggers show all the emotion and initiative. We did the same in 93. We can petition our companies to offer coops. The more people the stronger the plan. But most important, when we get government support for premiums, it wont be going to Karen Ignagni, the great corrupter of our government. If only a quarter of the population joined the cooperatives it would wipe out the bloodsuckers, reduce cost and save lives.

We have a wonderful president and a wonderful first family.

Our congess has just been corrupted by the lobby.

2. anyone think that David Plouffe was left behind to start a Democratic co-op?

Seems to me you'll pretty much get half the country signed up right away, the healthcare management will be tops, and the Republicans who decide to join will learn, first hand, how the Democrats run a health care system the right way

Seems like Plouffe and Dean could work something out that Democrats would find very interesting

9. Cooperatives are better than nothing, but the whole bill is a really
sorry compromise of what Americans deserve.

4. I can't stand to listen to his empty platitudes...He is ready to enslave us to the corporate system

And, he blathers on about a patient's bill of rights.

Sick.

10. We already had the patient bill of rights in California.
And frankly, I'd rather have the independent panel appointed here in California than in D.C. -- especially after watching the fiasco of Congress's work on this bill.

I wonder how much money was paid/promised to Congressmembers in the course of the "work" done in passing this bill? Let's watch the campaign funding reports. I'll bet there will be some interesting details.

Let's target those who are up for election who received a lot of the pay-offs. We'll easily find out who they are.

7. "Prevent insurers from charging exorbant premiums based on age, health or gender"
What about raising my premium 40% next April based solely on greed? Does it do anything to stop that?

No
