"Listen, I plead guilty to having raised money for Governor George W. Bush because I thought he was the best person to be President of the United States. And I did it in a completely appropriate fashion and enthusiastically for the President."

"There's no mystery to the fact that I was appointed to this job because, in part, I had a relationship with the President of the United States.

Anybody who receives a political appointment -- I am a political appointee -- there's going to be some measure of politics involved with that appointment."

12. Primaries are the time to get the candidate of your pleasing
How about asking some DUers what it is like to live in a state with a R governor?

9. I support Jon Corzine because
The Governor was dealt a bad hand because his predecessors resorted to budgetary gimmicks to comply with the state constitution by raiding pension and unemployment funds.

On top of that he saw the world wide economic crisis on the horizon and began moving the state to a position that would be better suited to cope with the international economic collapse.

Some blame him for high unemployment but fail to mention that many of the unemployed worked across the Hudson and Delaware rivers in other states. In fact, some major corporations moved operations to this side of the rivers because the Governor made New Jersey an attractive alternative.

He cut 4 billion dollars from the State budget without appreciable reductions in service.

His fiscal acuity put NJ on the road to recovery

He's made the tough decisions and provided solutions that benefited the majority of NJ's citizens.

His work as governor has put the State back on a strong fiscal foundation and has us going in the right direction.

His military training has given him the discipline to focus on the difficult issues in the face of adversity.

He knows that teamwork and integrity will bring about the best results, And he knows there's no substitute for hard work.

As Commander-in-Chief of the NJ National Guard, Governor Corzine has increased spending on post traumatic stress disorder for our soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Funding for the State's long term care facilities for veterans has increased.
He's expanded the state's ability to provide shelter for homeless veterans. He's also increased funding for our veterans cemetery so the unclaimed remains of our veterans get a decent burial and fitting resting place.

If your looking for someone who does political posturing and high profile grandstanding, don't look to Jon Corzine.

But if you want a Governor who will roll up his sleeves and do the hard work necessary for the state's success, Jon Corzine is that dedicated hard working public servant who will do the right thing.

Most of all, I'm supporting Jon Corzine because he's an honest man.

18. Fail. This ad stinks.
Mind you it may speak to something going on in NJ but it says nothing besides Chistie is a loyal Bushie. Big news. Its just preaching to the choir. Corzine is in big trouble if this is how he is running his campaign. :smoke:

20. So you are clueless about the politics here, aren't you?
There are only two Puke stronghold Counties, and most of the 'polling' goes on in them because of the Reich-wing press. And since bush is still a very dirty word here, it speaks volumes about how this bastard will run the State. He's already stated he is againts Gay marriage, extending benefits for women's health issues, and so many Conservative stands I don't need to regurgitate them. If you simply READ UP THE THREAD you'd get a clue.............

19. Thank you for this
I'm behind Corzine 100%! Last I saw, he had gained a ton of ground and the polls were 41% for Christie and 40% for Corzine. I agree with the posters upthread who said this ad was timed perfectly and that he's only dealing with what "trickled down" from Dim Son's misadministration. A Republican governor is the LAST THING NJ needs right now!
