The Ed Show - Max Blumenthal discusses the shattered, fringe Republican Party. Talks about displays of resentment by the Christian Right and how they can't handle individual freedoms. Also talks about the fight on Sarah Palin within the GOP and how Mitt Romney or Pawlenty are mannequin-like figures who will pander to the base to appeal to the crazies.

5. Well the Nicean Council did it..so they have no room to talk.
But considering that they've been around for Centuries. Their bible has been rewritten several times by various Chrisitian denominations who broke away from the Catholic Church. That being said, the Pope will think Americans are crazy and will probably say it, knowing that guy. That, of course, will offend many religious Americans and then we'll see a faction of Catholics making the choice between The Pope or Evangelical craziness. A true child of cathechism will stay by the Pope. The rest will join the nutty wing---and well there's never been much hope for those fools anyway.

4. "Birthers, Deathers, and Civil War Reinactors!" Brilliant. This was a brilliant platform for him.
Much better than the nonsense that erupted on Scarborough's show. Brilliant stuff stated.

They don't have the voters, will have less voters a year from now, as more people see Bachmann, and all the other clowns, as simply too stupid to hold office. Even Mittens Romney, and Huckabee, and Giulliani are among the missing in leadership of the Republican Party in the media. So-called "Moderate" Republicans are now exiled from their own party.

Say "good night" Ms Bachmann, this is your last year in office. Even people in your district are waking up, and all the supporters of Palin, etc are now hoping she doesn't make more of a fool of herself than she already has done.

9. The republican self-destruction could not come at a better time.
While they're struggling every day to further marginalize themselves, simple changes in American demographics are moving the country to the left. The millennial generation is proving to be not only civic-minded, but also more liberal than any generation in a long time. America is also becoming increasingly Hispanic, and the republicans have done themselves no favors there. The only age group where McCain consistently polled higher than Obama during the election was 65+, a group whose days are numbered by the forward grinding of time.

It's going to get much better, people. The only question in my mind is whether or not it will get worse first.
