3. Brother in law had/has Guillian-Barre
One evening his hands and feet felt a little numb. Next morning he woke up and could only move his head. It took about a year and a half of physical therapy but he slowly regained the ability to walk and resume a normal life. He regained control of his body slowly radiating out with his fingers and toes being the last to get better. I don't think it ever goes away, but merely goes into remission. No one knows why he came down with it but it definitely had nothing to do with vaccines.

I talked to our doc about the swine flu since I am concerned about our three and five year olds attending school. She said the cases they had been seeing are very mild and didn't recommend a swine flu shot for them at this time. She did however recommend the regular flu shot and that my hubby and I both receive flu and pneumonia shots.

Still worried a bit about the kiddos. But I'm always worried about them.

5. Canada examines vitamin D for swine flu protection

By Lorraine Heller, 10-Aug-2009

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has confirmed that it will be investigating the role of vitamin D in protection against swine flu, NutraIngredients-USA.com has learned.

The agency started a study last year on the role of vitamin D in severe seasonal influenza, which it said it will now adapt to the H1N1 swine flu virus.

“Researchers in PHAC are working with colleagues at McMaster University and with partners at other universities and hospitals to determine whether there is a correlation between severe disease and low vitamin D levels and/or a person's genetic make up. This line of research in seasonal influenza will be adapted to H1N1,” wrote the agency in an e-mail to NutraIngredients-USA.com.

PHAC said it is testing serum samples to examine this possibility in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Toronto.

Preventing ‘severe outcomes’

Part of the researchers’ goal is to understand if vitamin D levels are in any way responsible for the fact that most people with seasonal influenza develop a mild illness but a small minority go on to develop severe symptoms.

8. The Council on Foreign Relations?
Gee, by endorsing this vaccine--is the CFR attempting to staunchly dissuade anyone
who is knowledgeable--from getting the vaccine?

The CFR isn't an everyday, household organization. However, there are many people who
don't appreciate this group and are mistrustful of them.

Weird.

The CDC and the WHO--which are less controversial--seem like better forces for inspiration when
it comes to vaccines.

9. I guess that neither Thom Hartmann or his guest had read
The UK "Mail" back in late July (All spellings are British)

"A letter from the Health Protection Agency, the official body that oversees public health, has been leaked to The Mail on Sunday, leading to demands to know why the information has not been given to the public before the vaccination of millions of people, including children, begins.

It tells the neurologists that they must be alert for an increase in a brain disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), which could be triggered by the vaccine. (GBS attacks the lining of the nerves, causing paralysis and inability to breathe, and can be fatal.)

The letter, sent to about 600 neurologists on July 29, is the first sign that there is concern at the highest levels that the vaccine itself could cause serious complications.

It refers to the use of a similar swine flu vaccine in the United States in 1976 when: More people died from the vaccination than from swine flu. 500 cases of GBS were detected. The vaccine may have increased the risk of contracting GBS by eight times. The vaccine was withdrawn after just ten weeks when the link with Guillaume Barre Syndrom became clear."
