THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE! Every thinking citizen KNOWS that the
MSM is corporate owned and controlled. If you want to see a
"liberal media", actually a truthful one, you have
to tune in "FREE SPEECH TV" which carries stories,
on NEWS shows, like "Democracy Now" (with Amy
Goodman and Juan ? ohhh i hate that). This small network
(included on Dish TV and Direct TV and some cable carriers),
does NOT accept advertising, nor corporate money of any kind.
That is the way they stay NEUTRAL and report the TRUTH. People
donate to keep them on the air.
If the FCC under Obama (he appoints and has control
there)would re-instate THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE, then the
American people could hear the TRUTH on TV. THE FAIRNESS
DOCTRINE forces networks to give free air time to anyone with
a differing point of view, that way everyone can hear all
sides of a story and decide what they believe is true. It also
says that "News" has to be factual and unbiased.
Commentary has to be labeled as such. This
"Doctrine" has been in effect since the beginning of
Radio and until Reagan had it repealed, kept Americans one of
the best informed citizenry in the world.Reagan decided that
the content of the "News" should "be decided by
free market forces." In other words, the Truth was SOLD
to the highest bidder. The Florida Supreme Court decided a few
years ago that "news" programs had NO OBLIGATION TO
BE HONEST OR FACTUAL. This is incredible and is proof positive
that we are fed a steady diet of propaganda on the "Main
Stream Media." Liberal? ha ha. Corporate? yes. Demand, to
your legislator that the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE BE REINSTATED. It
would go along way toward helping the inadequate education
that is now a hallmark of country. The Masters never want
their slaves to be educated. That has been true all through
history. An educated "slave" (US) is way more
dangerous than one raised on corporate propaganda. The PEOPLE
OWN the AIRWAVES, we rent them to corporate propagandists. We
also need to FORCE them to donate a set amount of free air
time to candidates in an election. If we take the MILLION$ of
dollar$ that it takes to successfully run a campaign for
elected office, we could get REAL PEOPLE, not
multi-millionaires to represent us in government. Can you
imagine how that would change the equation? They would be
representing the people instead of the corporate money that
put them in office. All it would take is one honest President
to get these things done. What a legacy and a positive change
on America that President would make.
