There's something wrong with these people. First they cheer the idea of secession, then they chant USA? WTF?

contention for the presidency WTG GOP keep up the crazy nonsense and assure Democratic or 3rd party rule for eterntiy make our life easier. As I say we support the great Democratic voters there but if protects the overall good of the nation it may work out OK. Just keep going GOP take all your states out of contention they'll return once they understand how co-existance is democracy and then we can get back to reality and real issues.

4. LET THEM. I love Lincoln but...
if there's one thing we've learned from the civil war; preventing the continuation of slavery -GOOD, preventing an ignorant, irrational, unintelligent, naive, and immoral society to NOT remain part of a productive, successful, and civil union -BAD. Hate and obstruction breeds more hate and obstruction. Let them walk away and destroy themselves with selfish and improbable economic theories, complete lack of any preventative crime policy, merciless judicial punishments, complete lack of civil rights and civil liberties, and all around INABILITY TO LEARN from any other industrialized nation, American and international history, or even the words, lessons, teachings and principles of Jesus Christ; the son of God whom they misrepresent and claim to follow.

5. It's very important that we always state that we support all rational Texans left of right down >
there. They must be in the crossfire of this and they don't deserve it, hopefully they save their state from going the wrong path in history.

14. Plus there's Austin.
I know, I know, this is where someone mentions how other major cities down there voted for Obama, but still.

:)

7. This is some of the craziest political discourse in my lifetime.
Edited on Fri Apr-17-09 02:04 AM by Seldona
Hands down.

Can you imagine the true implications of this idiotic political rhetoric? The crowds with pitchforks and torches would be out the night they succeed, and the people who cheered it realized pretty much everything federal would be withdrawn.

From armed forces bases, to Social Security checks, to people on food-stamps, to people with children in public schools, everyone would be immediately affected in one way or another.

Perhaps the Texas Marshals can take the place of the FBI? What about federal land? Will that be seized, or will we be compensated for it? There would be an awful lot of mail trucks on the market as well, north of the border that is.

State taxes would skyrocket to compensate for the loss of federal dollars, at a much higher rate, as there would be no outside match from the blue states.

Never going to happen. It amazes me that even mentioning it in any other way but to dismiss it out of hand isn't the end of his political career.

9. It's funny, but it also worries me. As Cenk says, this is only 3 months in.
Somewhere out there, there are some domestic terrorists who are taking this shit very seriously. I think we're in for another Oklahoma bombing. And I'm more than a little worried that somebody is going to attempt an assassination on Obama.

12. I agree 100%.
Groups like these really are America's greatest national security threat at the moment imo. If even half of one percent take this insanity to it's logical conclusion, we are in a whole lot of trouble.

And over what? Taxes being raised on those that make more than 250k a year, setting them back to REAGAN levels?
Dumb-asses. Dangerous, but dumb-asses nonetheless.

8. I loved the part where he says they started chanting "USA! USA!"
immediately after cheering wildly for secession. Apparently their brains aren't in the loop with their mouths.

11. We they voted for Bush, so I wouldn't be expecting any superior intelligence in that audience.

13. Don't forget...
Over 3.5 million Texans voted for Obama, more than any other state other than New York and California. There are a lot of progressives in Texas.

Texas will turn blue in 2012.
