Or they just "forgot" that for the last 50 or so year, Canada have their fair share of interesting times, because many of the radar installations who was defending US, and to a lesser extent also Canada against Soviet missiles was being build, and paid for, by the Canadian government.. And that the Canadian Air force also had their share of intercepting soviet fighters and bombers over the years...

But the fact that Canada have helped their bigger brother many times over the last 50 year under the cold war is forgotten.. And the fact that Canada also is involved in the Afghanistan war is suddenly forgotten.. For some american, the only country who count is USA.. What ever the case is if not the US are involved, then it is no war..

And I for one would say that Canada got it right when they refused to join the Iraq War - against common wisdom and the will of most people of the world.. You was not alone even that the "right wingers" would say you was.. Millions of people here in Europe was strictly against the war - even I who have never been in a demonstration against everything was demonstration against the Iraq war - me and 60.000 others.. The biggest demonstration in Norway since the end of the WW2. Where it was more like a celebrating than a demonstration;)..

Maybe the government of Canada should tell their big friend south of the border next time they want you to tag along for a war, that last time you lost many soldiers in a war you was crossed.. And this time you have no soldiers to waste to annother US adventure.. That should give Pentagon a though or two..

Most russian fighters and bombers have also been collected by the Royal Norwegian Air force.. And not to say, the INTEL that station under Norwegian control have been collected over the years.. From the early 1960s, to the current Norway have collected enormous data to give to NSA, who have used it to keep an aye on the russians.. But most americans have no clue of that fact.

And for the "we are the most powerfully nation in the universe". Have US ever tried to attack a nation on their own size since World War Two?... I know that under the Cold war, most american was scared to their bones over the fact that the USSR had more than 10.000 tanks ready to Mars to the atlantic sea, or to mars true Alaska to the US, if it ever was a order to do that.. Or to the fact that between 1945 and 1991 thousands of movies have been pictured where the US was attached by the USSR, and there of course the US was fighting back with some luck.. And where in the end it was the evil russians who was stooped and was been sending back to where they came from... Whatever that be.. If the US was ever to attack a country who was little more powerfully than Iraq was in 2003, who on the paper had an mighty army, but in reality it was somewhat different.. And for the most part the Iraqi army was going away because they just wanted over with with the war in 2003.. If US was to attack, lat say China or Russia, then they might get their fight for the money.. But it is always easy to attack country who could not fight back in meanings full ways.. Like Iraq, and others places..

I fear if the reality of the status of the US army, the marines and so on was documented, then I fear that the US are in bad shape too. Specially with the soldiers coming back with more mental illness than ever before..
Canada have just not the same interest or the same resources available to an army the size of the US. And they play by the resources they have. Not what Uncle Sam is telling them.. Most "western country" have not the willingness, or the resources to spend trillions of dollar to the armed forces.. Even the US have not the money to do it, but are doing it, because they can manipulate the currency, who just happened to be the reserve valuta of most country in the world..
For the moment US is spending 20 percent more, than the next 20 country in the world.. And I would guess that Canada doesn't even get on the top 20 chart over the country spending on armory..

But, if that is the case, that many in US is saying this.. Maybe all the installations who have been build by Canada to defend the US against missile treats from the former USSR should be razed to the ground then?.. Maybe all the radar installations, who NORAD is depended of,should be mothballed, and in the end also razed to the ground. So can the all mighty United States get their warning from installations in Alaska - if not Palin and co is declaring Alaska Independent of the rest of the union...

What Canada is doing here is being honest, deadly honest of what is the shape of the canadian army. To fight war is expensive, very expensive if the war is going for a long time.. Most civilized country, who doesn't use billions of their budged on weapons can't support a long war.. Not if they are not willing to pay the price for it anyway... I for one would be interesting to se the REAL shape of the US armed forces... I would guess they also have been hitting the hen fence lately, but is bigger than most country are, so they can "afford" it more easy than most other country.

For the US, the WW2 was more or less a totally won because most of the country who was fighting the war, have to travel to US to get credits to fight the war. And mainland USA was never hit by war, so they have all the industry intact, and from 1944 already, more and more of the industry was tolling back to civilian use, because they KNOW it would be a big necessarily for everything from bananas to hwy industry components in Europe. And the only place they could have it, was in the US...

Today you have a industry who is less than stellar, and a economy who is in the gutter so to speak. And a debt that is a nightmare... US as of today are not the same as it was after WW2... And that is an important thing, that I guess this on FOX news have forgotten, or have no clue about...
