but really, conservative evangelicals are a special kind of dumb. How they can ignore the themes of solidarity with the poor and with workers, which are so prominent in their Bible, speaks to a really transcendent level of hypocrisy.

5. He is right in that the Terri Schievo debacle

was one of the worst uses of a families misfortune and pain to make political gain I have ever seen. It was intended to neuter the judicial arm of our government and it failed. The final ruling of this case in the 11th district court of appeals in Tampa had one of the most scathing writings about the Republicans and their abuse of the Constitution I think I have ever seen in a court decision.
