1. Those shows were pathetic, even for his type of garbage.

2. I saw a clip of his TV show a couple of years ago...

He went into the audience with his mic and talked with the members. There ensued a heated exchange between two or three of the audience members and it became clear that he lost control of the show. Believe it or not, he couldn't get a word in edgewise! He was reduced to a rube whose purpose was to simply hold the mic.

I believe I heard about that time that he either abandoned the "going into the audience" format, or that he left TV altogether. Losing control of the audience shows him to be weak, and as a control-freak, he fairs much better on radio.
