http://prideatwork.org/page.php?id=498ENDA Is Introduced: Watch The AFL In Action (In Video) And Take Action!
Let's Pass ENDA In '07
On Tuesday, April 24th, in Congress, The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), was introduced. The bill would bar discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. Nearly twenty years in the making, labor was there in force, and we invite you to get involved into one of the most important campaigns in Pride At Work history.
We invite you to viisit our Pass ENDA In '07 Action Center. There, you can send a free fax to your Congressional Representatives and President Bush imploring them to pass ENDA, pick up postcards to hand out at work, download union local ENDA endorsement forms, read the press statements of labor leaders like John Sweeney on ENDA, and download sample op-eds for your own union local officials to send to your local newspapers.
Get Involved! ENDA will most likely not be voted on until late Summer / early Fall. Get those union local endorsements and pass out those postcards now. The time to show labor's power is now!
Below, you'll find a video of Rosalyn Pelles, AFL-CIO Director of Civil, Human, and Women's Rights speaking at the Congressional Press Conference. Many thanks to our friends at PoliticsTV for getting us the video.
