2. "...to progress this great nation."
That whirring sound you hear is the sound of Strunk & White spinning in their graves.

10. She actually said that again!
A while back she said "progressing the nation" and I thought "what the hell are you talking about?" Evidently it wasn't a mistake, as she said it again. She has the oddest speaking style I've ever heard and it makes me dizzy.

I am "desiring of her" to go away!!!!

5. I've given up on this. This is evidence that our country is falling behind
in education. I watch a lot of law and order type shows and the grammatical abuse is epidemic. I've heard, 'we seen, they done, I seen, he come back', etc, etc. This is language from educated police officers and administrators, so how can we expect more from our citizenry. I know it seems insignificant in the larger picture, but it reflects our standing in the world and the value we place on education.

9. whom

My roommate used to watch "X Files", and like just about all TV, it was "to who", "from who", "for who".... and so on. He drug me to the X Files film (the 1st one) and I noticed when Scully asked "From whom?" Wow, better writers for the film, I thought! You gotta pay top dollar for correct grammar these days!

Of course this is certainly nothing new. On the same theme..."Star Trek" for 4 decades now has been asking us "To boldly go where no split infinitive has gone before!"

6. At first I thought she was like herpes, but that lays dormant for sometimes months
So then I thought oh...eczema, but that, too, can disappear for weeks or months at a time. So now I'm thinking a bad case of halitosis or an old dog fart that just hangs in the air--new farts running into old ones perpetually lasting for all eternity. Or a non-melanoma type growth that you keep shaving off but insists on returning requiring a nice surgical removal rendering you living in fear that it will pop back up again and again and again. OR or or, we have all died and gone to hell.

What the fuck did we do to deserve this?

12. Two words: Saint Ronnie.
The floodgates of the cult of personality burst open when a C-list actor and chimp wrangler ascended the throne.

I can give you an EXACT explanation for Palin's rise.

1). Freeps wanted Fred Thompson. Fred could not stay awake between campaign appearances. Fred went bye-bye.

2). Darwinism swept through the GOP. Rudy: Too much baggage. Mitt: Mormon, that's not gonna fly. Huck: Batshit crazy...yes, an evangelical but TOO batshit crazy to win. Who's left? McCAIN! Yeah! We're at war! He was shot down during a war! We can work with this!

3). Freeps HATE McCain...call him "Juan McCain"...for his stand on immigration.

4). James Dobson thumbs though his Rolodex. "Hmmmm...SARAH PALIN. Even more batshit crazy than Huckabee, but outside of a few meth heads in Wasilla, NO ONE KNOWS HER, and by the time they figure out how BATSHIT CRAZY she actually IS, we'll be in the White House."

5). Dobson calls McCain. "John...forget Lieberman and Ridge. Your running mate is Sarah Palin."

6). McCain: "Sarah WHO?"

7). Dobson: "Never mind."

8). McCain: "Yes sir."

9). Barack Obama elected President.

11. did you catch the tone of voice when she said "honor you?"
Very hard edge to it. I thought she was going to spit a bullet.

And the gestures cracked me up. Has she been watching doo wop artists on her time off?

13. I did!
Any "thinking adult" has GOT to question 99.9% of what emerges from Moose Mom's mouth.

She's like Wild Man Fischer, the crazy "street person" Frank Zappa discovered and signed to a record contract. Entertaining, but more than a little terrifying. But as we all know, the most legitimately insane individuals make for the best theater.

14. She butchers the English language!
She has participles dangling where no one in the history of sentence structure has ever hung a hook!

Argh!
