Just think what all those millions of FOX viewers thought of lefty Dreyfuss' blatant love for America!

After Dreyfuss, came Bill Maher to be with Huckabee!

2. Dreyfuss Needs His Own T-Shirt
This mans brain can come to my dinner table and chill with my friends anytime. He is throwing knowledge out there like its a fire sale. Imagine the possibilities if everyone thought like that just 25% of the time. Too busy producing for others than DEDUCING for ourselves. This is the system.

6. he is remarkable
When I saw this, I was reminded of many people in Hollywood who have used their celebrity for good. Mike Farrell, too.

4. I understand where he is going..
...but his explanation is for the birds. His rambling wouldn't hold the attention of the people that really need to be reached by this message.

5. You know, Dreyfuss also wrote a well-regarded alt-history science fiction novel
The Two Georges ... about an America that had never broken from Great Britain.

Co-wrote it with Harry Turtledove. An excellent read for history buffs.

7. I've met Richard Dreyfuss several times. He is a bore and is hardly an advocate of working people.
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 04:37 PM by David Zephyr
Richard Dreyfuss' dad was a big corporate exec and little Richard grew up bathed in privilege in Beverly Hills.

His continued arrests for driving off the road drunk in West Hollywood or crashing his car while high on coke -- year after fucking year -- are not the stuff of heroics, but of self-indulgence and abuse of privilege throughout his long life.

He is the George W. Bush of Hollywood. Period.

Now he's an advocate of the working class and the "American Dream" where "anyone who works hard can rise to the top" (just like he didn't) is simply preposterous and insulting.

The two times I ran into Richard here in L.A., he was drunk and boring and loud and obnoxious.

It was appropriate that he was sucking up to Mike Huckabee. They are both frauds.

9. I like Richard Dreyfuss, but his lecture was full of exceptionalism hyperbole
We are *not* the only system that has pulled people out of "serfdom" and in fact there are other societies that are better at it.

We will never really grow to our potential until we get rid of the American Exceptionalism mantra.
