This is just rough. Oh lord. It's pathetic all around. "Are you ready for some Sarah!"

I grew up on Hank Jr. music. It's like watching a crazy uncle go off the deep end.

1. A pity it was Jr.s music you had to grow up on... his dad was the real thing.
Junior's just a talentless fascist punk who's barely getting by his name. there's absolutely NO WAY he's from the loins of the great Hank Williams.

Bill- try his dad's stuff out- i think you'll prefer it!

8. grew up on Sr. too
Merle Haggard. Johnny Cash. Waylon and Wille. Ernest Tubbs.

It's always been known that Hank Jr, never possessed the actual talent all of the other guys did, but he had his niche, came up with some catchy songs and kept within his limited vocal range. I always loved his music, he does have some classics. But the dude is a major asshole. For more reasons than his support of McCain.

Hank Sr.'s music has power. He's so emotively strong listening to his music almost makes you want to drink yourself to death. You can feel the man's pain. Hank Jr, is more trivial than that. Corny, with constant references to himself or his dad in his songs.

I think if Sr. had an heir, it might have been Johnny Cash or Keith Whitley.

2. That reminds me of the time Roseanne Barr "sang" the national anthem.
The difference is, this guy sells records as a "musician."
I may sound elitist, but I am a musician who studied vocal performance in college, sang in multiple choirs, jazz ensembles, barbershop quartets, and I've played bass in a few rock and jazz combos. My barbershop quartet sang the national anthem at several sporting events around Montana, including the high school state wrestling championship match. My (our) worst ever performance was like The Three Tenors (I'm a baritone btw) compared to this abomination.
BOOO!!!
Hank, you suck!

10. his voice is very average
at best. Always has been. He's born with the name mostly, has had lots of catchy hits, but I doubt he ever could have made it on his own.

I had two years of choir and I lifetime singing in the shower, lol. I still suck though, lol. What year did you seing at the state tournament. I wrestled in the MT state finals.

15. 1995
It was my quartet (actually by that time we were a sextet), the "ECHOES" and our counterparts from our rival high school. I think there was a total of 10 or 11 of us singing the anthem. It was quite an honor to be asked to sing there.

17. I was there
It was my first year as an assistant coach. I competed there in '93 and '94. I definitely heard you sing it then. :) Small world.

So where are you from then?

4. Bocephus pretty much stopped giving a crap about anything after his face got ripped off...
...that little slide down the mountain has been painted as some kind of defining moment, when he stepped out of his father's shadow, etc. etc. etc.

But in reality, he took it as a license to become an alcoholic and an addict and an all-around asshole.

Heck of a job, Bocephus. Heck of a job.

Now they will win. Why do they get the big acts like Williams and Larry Gatlin, when we get average artists like Springsteen, Mellencamp,Jackson Browne,Bon Jovi, etc? We are doomed, I tell you, DOOMED!:sarcasm:
