1. Dave isn't going to let up.
McCain is so screwed. Millions of people a week watch him get shredded on live television, and there is nothing he can do about it. lol

6. I have been saying that since it happened ...
The fact that he went out his way to LIE for no reason whatsoever is bad, but who in the F did he think he was Fin with?

As other noted, if he would have called Letterman and even said he had to do the other interview, Letterman likely would have let it go.

BUT, to LIE about leaving, THEN at the SAME TIME he would be taping Letterman be taping with ANOTHER NETWORK PERSON!

Just how in the F did he think Letterman would react to that?

Nonsensical lying is bad enough, but not having the foresight to know the ramifications of cheesing off someone like Letterman - who can grind an axe with the best of them, has a show EVERY freakin night and an audience that is pretty much the prototype swing voter.

IMO, next to picking Palin, this was the most self destructive thing he has done.

7. As always, Paul Shaffer's inane off-camera remarks are distracting.
What exactly does this insufferable man add to these Letterman bits? Otherwise it was great.

It was a bad idea for McCain to tick off someone with his own show, in an election year.

24. mackerel, when McCain cancelled his Letterman appearance...
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 02:09 AM by SurferBoy
he said he had to immediately hop on a plane to Washington D.C. and work with the President and Congress on the bailout bill.

Instead, McCain did a CBS Evening News appearance with Katie Couric during Letterman's show, and Dave showed him live with Couric.

Then McCain had dinner and went back to his hotel, and didn't get to D.C. until the next day.

So, that's "immediately hop on a plane to D.C." according to McCain?

Thus, he LIED to Letterman.
