2. "This works better if I get to ask the question."
I'm not impressed with Davis. Saying this election "is not about the issues" was a major gaffe that we'll be able to milk for the next two months.

25. Rick Davis just twists and lies and hen rants with bumper sticker slogans.
Wallace didn't get to interrupt with his follow up remarks because Davis knew Wallace was right and so wouldn't let him talk. Davis knows Wallace has only so much time to ask questions.

31. Lies
I think Republicans dont mind lying like Democrats mind lying. Republicans cheered Ollie North when he consciously lied to Congress.

More important and more humorous is the recent Cindy McCain Video at the Republican Convention. In the middle it mentioned that when John met Cindy he was 43 and told her he was 37 and she was 23 and told him that she was 27. In other words, they are introducing themselves to the American Public by telling us that the first thing they did when they met each other was LIE to get something they wanted. Humourous but true.

4. Grants are NOT earmarks. Davis either knows that or he should
Grants are budgeted and encumbered. The money is allocated then as spent reported back to the the grant administrating department-sometimes this is done via drawdowns after spending but it is basically the same thing. These are tracked and are a apart of regular reporting by the administering department.

Earmarks are one time spending approvals that are not tracked or reported. They are a check and there is no accountability on them.

19. Earmarks are payoffs/syphening off of funds
and from what I have read you have to be an expert to find them in a lot of bills.

pretty desperate and pathetic

22. "Maverick" is too complimentary.
How about we substitute the synonym, "loose cannon," whenever the MSM calls McCain a "maverick"?

... that Fox gets ready access to Republicans.

17. MSNBC has Olbermann & Maddow & McCain refused to go on CNN

Because they dared to ask one specific order that Palin issued as head of the Alaska National Guard...

The media isn't cow-towing to them, and don't be surprised.

13. I love it when...
a republican goes on faux expecting to be lobbed a bunch of softballs, and instead is blindsided by real questions that they don't have a good answer for, and follow-up questions on their lies. Doesn't happen often enough, but it is sweet when it does.

15. This means the corporations WANT a Obama win - the Republicans have gone to far

This isn't about us. This about the corporations deciding that the Republican incompetence is dangerous for THEM. Things are SO bad, it is threatening their business. Obama is not really very far left. He actually goes to far to the center (think Clinton- the best Republican President we ever had).

This bodes well for an Obama win.

So, who will be hosting this show next week? Surely they can't let this hack back on the air after dismantling McSame's campaign manager.

18. There is something far more important in what Rick says...
Notice how when Alaska votes for money "they" ask - meaning the legislature.
But "she passed" reform bills - not the legislature.

When anything bad happens, it's someone else's fault - the legislature, the city council, the voters in the small town...
When anything good happens, it was all her doing.

The buck stops...somewhere over there....

21. Is it me....
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 11:58 AM by AlbertCat
....or does Alaska sound like a horrible place? I mean, it's nice to visit and see some glaciers and a whale or two....but if repugs are in charge neither of those things will be around much longer.

Alaska is like those big empty "red" states out west( uh....I guess it IS, but I meant like KS or WY), who get huge Government handouts paid for by the populated "blue" states.... then they vote for Repugs against their own self interest. All that religion just makes you ig'nunt, don't it?

And McCain's campaign is the dumbest! Their ads are useless and full of lies, their picks are crazy (who's gonna be their Sec of State? Dr. Laura?), their convention was like a funeral.... they suck!

They wouldn't know the truth if it bit them in the ass.

At least Wallace did a half-way decent job for once.
