In 2009 she will be a very different speaker with a bolstered congress. Also impeaching and failing would cricify Democrats and it takes a riculous amount of votes really. If the options are Rahm or Pelosi, I'm happy for it to remain Pelosi.

56. I think during one of her many facelifts some ghoulish person
lifted a lot of her brain. She clearly has learned how to lie cheat and steal like the best of them while pretending she has the peoples best interests in mind all the while working on her own lucrative agenda behind the scenes. Impeachment would clearly put a kibosh on her and her cronies ability to raise vast amounts of cash.

6. She may have come across well to you and maybe some others. However, a career
saving moment! I doubt that very much and certainly would hope not. Why, because she came across well on "The View"? That has not changed what she has done or not done and how she has failed all those who had high hopes for her leadership and she let all of those people down and has basically thumbed her nose at us. She has not changed just because she went on the view. I certainly hope she is not in her present position after the election.

18. Sorry
but that's BS, IMHO.

we have to create jobs, expand health care, protect the american people and educate our children

There is NO reason 'jobs can't be created' (like they actually do that!), expand health care and protect the American people
--and much, much more!--
if impeachment is in the works. That is a blatant cop out insulting to our intelligence and especially if the latter were true, there would NEVER be a time when impeachment could be carried out.
-- there will ALWAYS be unemployed in this country and as for this congress doing anything about health care -- don't hold yer breath! And as for "protect(ing) the American people"??!! WTF, she's saying they're mutually exclusive and virtually saying that is an excuse to NEVER impeach ANY president!

Sure, impeachment is impossible.
Unless, of course, it's a Democratic president and especially if it's over some sexual dalliance; not anything MINOR like the many things King George has done such as subverting the Constitution {which he SWORE to uphold), waging illegal war, committing war crimes, causing the death of thousands of Americans --many more now than were taken when the Twin Towers were hit-- and illegally spying on the American people (with retroactive immunity for his precious partner corporations) to name just a few!

*Towards Pelosi, please insert the very worst words here, including the W-word, C-word, and B-word; all prefaced by the F-ing word*
And yes, I'm a feminist to the max -- but if the Ferragamo fits...

Pelosi is just full of pure unadulterated BULLSHIT as per usual!
Nothing new here, move along. American Idol will be on soon and Nancy Pelosi is an upstanding, principled, honest Democrat...

It is career saving moments like this that are destroying this country and putting the whole world at pearl

Anyone one capable of critical thinking does very well in seeing through all the BS lies. When one knows that, a premise based on facts or fiction, truth or lies, are all equally the bases for which one forms good or erroneous conclusions.

One of many erroneous conclusion, that our dumb downed congress has arrived at, (and Im being way to easy by referring to them as dumb downed) was to allow the unelected occupants of the White House too attack another sovereign country who was no threat to us.

Simply put! The premise that congress voted on was based on fictitious and felonious lies. Facts were manipulated and distorted so they would legitimize the premeditated conclusion, i.e. the need to go too war, and objective facts that could not be spun too fit the conclusion were cast aside.

But its nice too see the good speaker has access too the right wing information managers and damage control spin doctors,- so as she can make it perfectly clear to the dumb downed American sheeple - that Congress did not allow the unelected occupants of the White House to take us into an war (a war that is destroying our economy and the lives of millions of people) based on fictitious and felonious lies. Nope, it wasnt a bald face pathological lie either as some might suggest, it was simply a False Premise. Well fuck me too tears, dont we all feel better now knowing that a false premise given to a dumb downed congress and the gullible American sheeple, is in no way an impeachable offence

Sorry, but it sounds to me, like the premise of Nancy Pelosis talking points - came from something the benevolent and unelected Gorge Bush once said, You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on.

I will end this by just saying! May all of you who can still afford gasoline, shop with peace of mind, and the knowledge that our government is in good hands

7. Something smells here...
Pelosi is trying to have it all ways. She doesn't want to upset the status quo, for whatever reason. She knows that she doesn't have to actually impeach, just investigate impeachment and then let things run from there. Saying 'it's off the table' basically gave Bush all kinds of room to maneuver. She's going to look pretty pathetic when other countries start warning Bush administration officials that they'll be arrested if they drop by, especially once they're out of office. She can be as well-meaning as she likes but fact is she hasn't put much heat, if any, on the administration. A strong leader would have tied them up in knots by now. Same goes for Reid...weaker than yesterday's tea bags.

43. We can't impeach because we just need to focus on passing quality bills
- when the president apposes 99.9% of them, what good is it? That's why congress has such a low rating. They can't or won't do much. The other big issue being repeated is that she wants to "unify" the country. I don't think anything could be more "unifying" than showing Americans and foreigners alike that what has been done is NOT acceptable. We do not agree and will not allow this behavior from our president. I don't care if some say "it's too late"; we should DO something here. Clean up this mess! - You keep at it Dennis K!!

By what criteria is the surge working? All we have are statements from the White House and McCain. Show me! Until you can show me, I will regard these claims as more propaganda from the White House.

9. What good is power if you aren't going to use it?
The View is one of the most worthless shows presenting logorrhoea as intelligent discourse, but I can understand Pelosi wanting to plug her book and keeping logorrhoea in mind, she did not disappoint. "If somebody had a crime..."? Is she serious or has she had her head up her rectum these past few years? If she would have led the way after the 2006 election which put her in a position to actually do something, there is no way in Hades that it would have hurt the Democrats after each successive layer of the foul onion was peeled away. The Democrats must finally take responsibility along with the power they possess and overturn every fucking rock in D.C. to reveal the rot beneath. It is absolutely imperative that the neck of the neocon beast is snapped once and for good. Otherwise we are just setting ourselves and the country up for the next episode of tyranny. Show these pig fluffers for what they are. Get fucking mad and start to fight! Ultimately, the administration is responsible for the crimes committed in our names, but I despise Nancy Pelosi and others like her (Reid comes to mind) for their weakness and poor leadership.

12. Not just "somebody" but several
somebodies have done just that - detailed specific crimes committed by Bush.

Ms Pelosi "writes" books, but evidently doesn't read them. The books listed below describe the crimes in excrutiating detail:

Maybe we should send the books to her. Or set up an appointment for her with Jonathan Turley.

The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder by Vincent Bugliosi

"In The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, Bugliosi presents a tight, meticulously researched legal case that puts George W. Bush on trial in an American courtroom for the murder of nearly 4,000 American soldiers fighting the war in Iraq. Bugliosi sets forth the legal architecture and incontrovertible evidence that President Bush took this nation to war in Iraq under false pretensesa war that has not only caused the deaths of American soldiers but also over 100,000 innocent Iraqi men, women, and children; cost the United States over one trillion dollars thus far with no end in sight; and alienated many American allies in the Western world."

The Impeachment of George W. Bush: A Practical Guide for Concerned Citizens by Elizabeth Holtzman

"No one is better placed or qualified to call for the impeachment of George W. Bush than Elizabeth Holtzman. She is a former Congresswoman and Brooklyn District Attorney who was a vital member of the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of President Richard Nixon. In The Impeachment of George W. Bush, Holtzman and her coauthor, acclaimed journalist Cynthia L. Cooper, have written a clear, lucid and damning legal brief that reveals that the 43rd President of the United States of America has committed high crimes and misdemeanors. This book focuses on four articles of impeachment: The Offense of Wiretapping Surveillance in Defiance of the Law; the Offence of Lying and Inducing America to Support a War; The Offense of Reckless Indifference to the Lives and Welfare of American Troops; The Offense of Torture in Violation of U.S. Laws and Treaties."

United States v. George W. Bush et al. by Elizabeth de la Vega

"In United States v. George W. Bush et al., former federal prosecutor Elizabeth de la Vega brings her twenty years of experience and her passion for justice to the most important case of her career. The defendants are George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice, and Colin Powell. The crime is tricking the nation into war, or, in legal terms, conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Ms. de la Vega has reviewed the evidence, researched the law, drafted an indictment, and in this lively, accessible book, presented it to a grand jury. If the indictment and grand jury are both hypothetical, the facts are tragically real"

There these people sit, all clean, well-fed and smiley, acting like everything is okay. We haven't allowed our Treasury to be looted. We haven't committed war crimes. We haven't tortured. We're not despised the world over. We haven't sold our constitution down the river to wealthy corporate interests. We haven't allowed our freedoms to be usurped in the name of keep us 'safe' (whatever that means).

This and more is what I see projected forth in programs like that, and it annoys me to the point of nausea, so I have to turn it off.

23. unfortunately, she's flat out lying.
There's plenty of well-known evidence of Bush admin lawbreaking. Hardly a week goes by without more being revealed. The congressional Dems under her leadership have been holding fake "hearings" where Bush admin officials, if they bother to show up after being subpoenaed, refuse to answer questions citing "executive privilege". Bush admin officials do this and know already that they'll get away with it because the Dems, under her leadership, have already said that taking them to task is "off the table". So they outright laugh in the face of the american people, knowing that the congressional Dems, under her leadership, have their back.

And justice will never be done.

Also, since Dems are going along with this for the sake of a phony expedience (rolls eyes), whether it's called "to get Dems elected in 08" or "to get important congressional matters done in a bipartisan way" -- this means everything that the Bush admin has set in place will continue in place right through the coming election, after which it'll be completely off the radar. All the infrastructure for spying will still be in place, all the infrastructure for kidnapping, torturing and murdering people, for putting on kangaroo court show trials, for evading the keeping of executive branch records -- all the apparatus and precedent setting for an imperial presidency, in effect a dictatorship -- will still be in place. And the people will never know how much of it, if any, is ever removed -- whatever a future gov't says, whether Dem or Repub, the people will never know if it's a lie, or whether this infrastructure is instead being added to and fine tuned. Because nothing is being done, the US has effectively lost its freedom.

And it'll bite back at ya big time, because these powers aren't in any way benign, or concerned about any ideal except private profits for the most powerful of elites.

37. An impeachment is supposed to gather the evidence of a crime.
And Bush and Cheney while being exceedingly secretive have also been blatantly open about many of their crimes, admitting to them. No one but those two could have accomplished such a mixture of evil doing....secretive and blatant...how did they do it? Under impeachment rules they cannot hide behind executive privilege, which is significant for these crooks, although everything of interest is probably already shredded.

55. She can't cause she's guilty too and can't let herself be exposed.
She also doesn't cook, her husband shops for her and she has a book to sell.
- Fascinating isn't it?

it's like she's nervous, but I don't think she really is nervous.

45. You love Nancy?
Nancy Pelosi is almost as bad as this criminal administration. There is no reason that impeachment should be off the table. What is it that the Bush administration has on her? She most probably knew about the torture and the spying and knows that if she pursues impeachment the blood is on her hands too. I say they start impeachment proceedings against Pelosi first.

62. ???
You are happy with the job she has done in regards to this? Seriously??? You think these are talking points as if there is some conspiracy against her? She hasn't done her job plain and simple, these aren't talking points these are the unfortunate realities of a Speaker who is not upholding the rule of law. If you and other Democrats want to sit back and allow her to take impeachment off the table, if you are happy with crimes going unpunished. Then I feel sorry for you.

57. Actually, she's arguably far worse than the regime itself.
Simply stated, would you rather have some criminals in your town or a corrupt police force?

Even taking her at her word (which can be quite bizarre), her claim is that there's something more important than acting to stop ongoing torture.

Trouble is, the Geneva treaties also say that all gov't officials have a duty to report and act to stop ongoing torture. Failure to do so is a war crime in itself.

Currently Pelosi et. al. have the status of "Nuremberg defendants."

Their failure to impeach -- to object in the name of the American People for that which they never gave their proper consent -- render the US a War Criminal Nation, as opposed to just victims of a lawless, rogue regim.

47. Joy did not look happy with the answer.
I also thought the applause meter was high on impeachment for a non-political show. I wish someone in the audience had shouted out "Torture" when she said she'd impeach if someone would just tell her a crime. *sigh*

63. This remark was usually made while playing kickball
Unlike baseball, where the pitcher is trying to get the batter out be throwing something he can't hit, kickball required the pitcher to serve up something to the batter liking. The batter would usually communicate this to the pitcher by returning the ball to him as he wanted it delivered. Every now and then, the batter would reject a pitch that seemed to be for what he asked, thus causing the pitcher or one of his teammates to make the remark, "What do you want? Eggs in your beer?"

58. Elizabeth H when praising the surge and Obama's refusal to acknowledge
it worked: "Had he been making the decisions, we would be in a different situation."

WHY didn't Pelosi say "That's right, Elizabeth, if Obama had been making the decisions, WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN IRAQ TO BEGIN WITH!"

Man, she blew it.

64. what posible evidence
would she recognize as constituting the crime, of being in bed with fascism? This comment of hers removes the faintest hope that people like her will help turn the direction of politics back to the hope of a real democratic society.
