1. Everybody keeps predicting this superdelegate flood
And at best we get a trickle or a minor rainstorm.

Remember Fitzmas? That was like getting a pair of socks on Christmas morning after months of anticipating getting a PlayStation.

5. Unlikely to see 35 SDs -- BEFORE the polls close
Most of them seem to be waiting until after the last primary completes.

Catch-22.

2. I would hope these SD's realize how important it would be to have Obama reach the total needed
and his doing so because of the results of the last 2 primaries... that just makes it feel a lot better and help legitimize him even more so than just the SD's doing it later this week...

4. Super Delegates are proving themselves to be not so "SUPER" the longer they hang back.

7. There is a good argument for not committing until after all states have voted

yet voted.

10. By waiting until all the primaries are over to "flood,"
they are preventing Hill's camp from having a talking point about the supers having "taken" it from her.

11. That doesn't make any sense to me. They are voting jsut like we voted. They should know
which caniddate they prefer unless they are waiting for some sort of payback or backroom deal from the candidates. to me it stinks that they haven't voted. with the exception of those from the states which haven't voted. It would be wrong for them to vote before their state's people.
just how it looks to me. I'm annoyed that they hold back and wait. looks dirty to me.

12. My point is that YES, they DO know....
they are only waiting until "all votes have been counted" before declaring, so that they can avoid yet another accusation of unfairness.

15. I will accept your argument but they had better choose sides like in hours once this is over.

17. I definitely agree with that, and I think it will happen
in sufficient numbers. We only need about 30 of them, and I think we will see that many on Wednesday and Thursday.

18. We will see tomorrow night. It is a hypothesis, but no super delegate who declared already was
accused of being unfair. NO reason they couldn't have declared intent months ago. And, if declaring one at a time, noone can accuse of unfairness. That possibility only exists now. And you assume that they have all planned it together. I HOPE you are right, but I don't think the intentions are so honorable. I think it's more like I wnat to vote for the winner so i will get favors later.

16. Taking the complete primary picture into account
I think there are arguments either way. I can certainly understand a SD reasoning that they shouldn't put their voice into the mix until all voters have had their say. I think that is a perfectly valid position to take.

I think it is equally valid for SDs to step in as soon as Obama locked up the PD victory, but we didn't see very many of them get on board at that time.

I don't think there is a good argument for waiting this long, and then NOT waiting another 36 hours until ALL the states have voted. The only reason to do that is for PR. And given that we haven't see a last minute flood of SDs, I think the Obama campaign is not trying to orchestrate that.

Instead, they are letting this run its course, knowing that there will be plenty of SDs on Wednesday to lock this thing up.

He is one of the best out there.
