4. McClellan always was and still is a weasel and would eat his young to save his own ass
...Ythe Iraq War was sold with propaganda and lies and McClellan was right there at that time making up the propaganda and lies and then delivering all of it to the press and the people wearing the mask all the time until he could capitalize on it in the form of this book. This little weasel is just as guilty as the rest of BushCo. Scottie boy was just being to good little nazi!

dishonest.

"Yes, I lied, but it's their fault: they misled me. So No, I didn't lie: I didn't know."

Fuck that.

Making money out of the situation, too.

A real "Mea Culpa" is not like this.

However, in dumbed-down US-UK, this kind of stuff runs and runs... let's have more of it (the light-entertainment-minded will reckon). It's essentially, what's the term? a spoiler.

8. Did he just say that Bush approved the Plame outing?
"The reporter asked if you (Bush) were the one that authorized Scooter Libby leaking ..." McCallan said that bush admitted that point blank.

Why isn't this the headline? Bush admitted an act of treason, and up to now, everyone has put that on Rove and Cheney.

Why is this not sending out shock waves?

Bush admitted treason. If that is not an impeachable offense, I don't know...........

...so has he now contradicted himself here?

14. That's what I'm asking.
It sure sounded to me like he told Olbermann that Bush specifically said he DID approve the outing by Libby. Did I hear that wrong?

15. He was talking about the declassification of selective portions
of the Intelligence Report in order to discredit Joe Wilson:

It was in Libby's grand jury testimony, revealed publicly for the first time in the government filing, that the former White House official stated that Bush had approved Cheney's instruction to reveal portions of a classified prewar National Intelligence Estimate that they believed would bolster the administration's argument that Iraq was seeking to develop nuclear weapons. At least three reporters received that information: then-New York Times reporter Judith Miller, author Bob Woodward, and Matthew Cooper of Time magazine.

On July 18, 2003, after those three had been privately briefed, the administration publicly declassified much of the document. A striking aspect of the administration's private dissemination effort is that the information Cheney and Libby put forth - regarding efforts by Iraq to acquire uranium from Niger - had already been widely discredited within the administration.

24. OK. Thanks.
I appreciate that clarification.

No doubt Bush ALSO was aware of and supported the outing of Plame, but I was shocked when it sounded like McLellen was saying that.

18. See Scott Sweat!
Edited on Fri May-30-08 12:53 AM by ingin
Oh damn! He actually looks at ease in this.

Not used to seeing him like that. WOW!

So he has no friends? He just made one here.

I saw him sweat on that stage. He admits to

his role. Secure him. Provide security, a good job,

maybe one more book. But he should be thanked, and kept

from political, or physical harm.

A democratic witness protection program.

To tell the truth, I could have hit big,

taking him on the under.

He has a bad poker face.

19. This video is BLOWING ME AWAY. I can't believe I'm watching this.
I believe Scotty has been carrying intense guilt for the unnecessary deaths caused by the war and he doesn't want to carry that guilt anymore. his only way out is to tell the truth. It won't bring back those lives but it could prevent another war.

20. K&R
I am very cynical about McLellan's motives in publishing this book in the last months of the Bush Presidency. It looks to me like someone decided to cash in his chips and make as much money as possible out of his book.

But I am impressed with the decision to go on Countdown as his first in-depth interview. It suggests that this guy is serious about what he is saying and about wanting to go on the record with his experiences.

22. McClellan says he doesn't think it was a deliberate conscious
effort on the part of Cheney to deceive the American people on the nuclear issue in regards to Iraq's WMD! That statement is preposterous. Obviously it was deliberate deception on Cheney's part. He and Rummy had the "Office of Special Plans", Cheney was constantly visiting CIA headquarters and telling them what to put in their reports (and now they are blaming the CIA), the PNAC agenda, the Carlyle Group,AIPAC,the outing of Valerie Plame! Come on. Cheney was the main instigator. Bush is the puppet religious fool/monkey. Cheney's the one holding the leash. Scotty is coming fully clean.

37. Scotty's more credible taking a moderate approach IMO.
He's obviously being careful to speak about things that he has personal experience of and not speculate too much beyond that.

We can't expect him to have the full range of knowledge of a long-time DUer.

27. Ok, Keith - now have BUGLIOSI on to discuss his new book.
I think that the BFEE is using Snotty Scotty as a Deflector Shield so nobody notices Bugliosi's book.

Snotty even said himself that his book was supposed to be released at a different time but he "thought about it" and decided to allow it to be published now. Things that make you go HMMMMMMM .....

36. ... its my understanding ...
... that this is going to be, or is, part of a soon-to-be-released book.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vincent-bugliosi/the-prosecution-of-george_b_102427.html

If so, we can see why Snotty bent over and said 'Aaah' in order to call attention to himself and away from Bugliosi.

41. I was catching up on my Hartmann podcasts today and heard about this
book as of today. I can see why someone would want him on KO to discuss it.

Things get out. Scott was just the wake up call for the sleeping Americans. When we digest what he had to say, we will be ready for Bugliosi.

the underlings have had the revelation that Bush and Cheney and the machine will expect loyalty but when its their butts in the sling

they will sell you out in a minute

Scottie learnt the lesson very well

So he is a smarter Scottie than he started and he will be richer too
