Speaking as a former Oregonian, Roseberg has had a reputation as the antithesis of progressive politics. GOP leaning "Reagan Democrats", social conservatives, and anti-environmentalists make up most of the electorate. The fact that Obama can muster a crowd there bodes well. Portland is a given. It's outposts like Roseburg that serve as barometers of shifting public opinion.
