1. My, how interesting.
I conclude from Errol Flynn's comments from his first hand experience, that the news US MSM was already spinning what the guvmint wnated the American people to hear, way back in 1958. As a school kid, I recall only hearing that the commies had taken over Cuba, and oh woe and distress to us and the poor Cubans. I don't recall Flynn's perspective on this Canadian TV show ever being a part of my US world back then.

2. I was a freshman in college in '58. I can't believe how badly he looks
in this video. Media didn't cover or say anything too much about the "stars" and their bad habits in those days, but those eyes look like they've seen plenty of booze in their day. Thanks for posting. Notice the cigarette while on camera???

4. I recall in 1958
that in Champaign Illinois at least, Fidel was considered a hero-taking down a corrupt dictator. My brother was in high school then, and he bought a fatigue cap and inked in the letter F on front-he even called himself "Fidel" for a time.

6. This was before Fidel declared himself a Communist.
He had a lot of sympathy in the U.S. before that.
