The National Labor Relations Board will hold a hearing today for Foxwoods Resort Casino and employees seeking representation through the United Auto Workers union.

The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at NLRB offices at 280 Trumbull St. in Hartford. The UAW has petitioned the NLRB to form a union on behalf of about 3,000 dealers at Foxwoods.

John Cotter, NLRB assistant regional director in Connecticut, said that both Foxwoods and the union and their attorneys would have the opportunity to testify and put on exhibits concerning their views on whether the agency has the jurisdiction to decide the case and what types of job classifications among dealers might be part of any union that survives an election.

“They're building up a record for the (federal) NLRB in Washington (D.C.),” Cotter said.
