An explosion at the Everettville mine in Everettville, W. Va., kills 109 miners, many of whom lie in unmarked graves to this day - 1927

And this: April 30, 1927 - An explosion at the Everettville mine in Everettville, West Virginia, killed 109 miners. Many of these men still lie in unmarked graves. The Everettville Historical Association has mounted a campaign to erect a memorial for all those who died over the years at what was known as Federal Mine No. 3.
