Summary Box: United Airlines labor negotiations

(AP) – 2 hours ago

THE LARGE PRINT GIVETH: United Airlines says it would consider giving its flight attendants raises that would bring them up to the same level as workers at Continental Airlines.

THE SMALL PRINT TAKETH AWAY: In exchange for the raises, United wants major work rules changes, which it says would also be more like what Continental has.

THE REACTION: The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA says no way. They plan pickets on Tuesday to mark the one-year anniversary of the start of negotiations.
