LA AFL-CIO chapter to "Phone Bank" for CWA in AT&T contract negotiations

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO is planning to "phone bank" (i.e. call center dial-up) U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein and AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson on Thursday in support of the Communications Workers of American (CWA). AT&T and CWA are currently trying to negotiate a new contract, but no progress has been announced since the old contract expired at midnight on April 5.

Sen. Feinstein will be asked to "stand with working men and women by supporting the Employee Free Choice Act," while AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson will be implored to bargain fairly with the workers at AT&T. Calls will be made between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. PST.

For its part, the CWA has been quiet (so far) this week; make of that what you will.
