For years the insiders have been using labor to get votes for their candidates, no matter how DLC/Blue Dog (i.e. anti-labor) they may be....it's time for unions to tell the party to put up or shut up when it comes to labor.....no more donations to party insider candidates until EFCA passes.

1. We've had similar problems
here in the UK

The Unions formed the Labour party over 100 years ago and have funded them ever since, however the Party are now in the process of privatising the post office and have generally sold them out for 10 yrs. Many Unions are contemplating the unthinkable. Dissassociating from the Labour Party

2. After all - unions would fare far better under McCain Palin except for this vote
Repubs are really great for unions and for working americans compared to the democrats except for this one critical vote :sarcasm:

3. I tried this a few years ago
when my local labor council was preparing candidate endorsements. I wanted to withhold endorsement of one congressperson who voted for PNTR for China on the grounds that it would increase the opportunities for evangelization there. There was much discussion of how this person supported us in the past, and how they sometimes need political cover. My response was that people who stand up for what they believe don't need cover or anything else to hide behind, and that if they're not with us on the big issues then they're not deserving of our support. They went ahead with the endorsement anyway. Labor will continue to be used until the movement grows a pair and actually swings whatever weight it has left. For now, there's too much worrying about hurt feelings instead of real results.
