Bush apologizes to Hu for protester
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 01:46 AM by NNN0LHI

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. President George W. Bush and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao made little headway on trade after a White House ceremony, which was disrupted by a lone heckler and the misidentification of China's anthem.

Bush later expressed regret to Hu over the heckling, a senior Bush official said. snip

Bush's expression of regret to Hu was made at the outset of their meeting in the Oval Office, said Dennis Wilder, acting senior director for Asian affairs on the National Security Council.

"{The president} just said 'This was unfortunate,' and 'I'm sorry this happened,' " Wilder said. snip

The protester was standing on a camera platform on the South Lawn. The woman continued shouting as she was led away by uniformed Secret Service agents.

1. If Bush had the fucking balls to stand up for freedom, he'd say...
"Hey, this is a free country after all."

No, he can't say such things.

2. I finally caught some video of this...
at Crooks and Liars. It was another all time classic Bush blunder. The guy finishes commenting that China needs to have teh freedom to assemble and the freedom to speak out, then he has this little old Chinese lady arrested for... um... speaking out.

3. Toughen up, M*****F***ers!
It is more than a little weird that Monkey Boy APOLOGIZED for this dissenting opinion in the assembled crowd. But the little shit can't handle disagreement or dissent himself -- so they were happy partners in suppression today. How precious. His uncle is making such a fortune in China, after all.

But the playing of the Taiwanese national anthem during a visit by the president of the Peoples' Republic is an inexcusable violation of protocol -- how stupid can this administration get? Whatever my feelings about China are -- if I was in a presidential administration I would have extended the courtesy of playing the appropriate national anthem. It's as though Jack Kennedy went abroad and was met by "I Wish I Was In Dixie."

4. As disgusting as * apologizing for the "heckler" is
I find it ironic that those weenies played the Taiwanese national anthem. Considering the issues between China and Taiwan, that must have been quite a smack in the face!

5. Bush has a history of apologizing to China
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 02:21 AM by NNN0LHI
Bush apologized profusely to China after one of their fighter pilots downed our spy plane in 2001. The incident was never spoken of again. We got our spy plane back months later in teeny weensy little boxes after it had been dismantled by the Chinese Army.

Lot of people forget that one.

7. Don't forget...
...the Chinese made us PAY for the shipping and handling, and give them signifigant concessions in addition, before agreeing to return the plane...
