Pro-Rummy Generals are trying to reframe the issue of the dissenting
Generals. They are now saying things like, "They had their access to Rumsfeld," and "They are just trying to cover their butts now that things haven't gone great." (Bill Bennett said this today, I think). They do not address the fact that generals were fired (Shinseki) or demoted (Riggs) for arguing with Rumsferatu.

These are some slick SOB's. They learned alot from watching Rove, et al change the argument on anything that came up to criticize W.

1. They are traitors to this country and I hope, ultimately, are treated
as such.

2. I think everyone but the most strident rightwingers know that....
...those other generals are lying to protect Rummy.

3. Just trying to cover their butts now that things aren't going so great?
But I thought the party line was that things were going swimmingly. No?

5. They all have been screaming that talking about this is demoralizing
to the troops. They must think the troops are too stupid or weak-minded or overly sensitive about such matters that they cannot figure it out for themselves. Besides, from what I've seen on TV, the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are too busy getting shot at to be overly concerned with this except when they get a break.

6. There's an article on Yahoo news....
Rummy is trying to explain the dissent. He says he made "novel decisions", by trying to clean up the military, it's not easy to do something like that....make it modern.....

But you know what? It won't hold water because Iraq is still Iraq.....a mess. There is nothing he can say that will change that. Just let him try.
