I watched Karl Rove give a speech the other night

and was pleased as punch that no mention was made of it, either on DU or the media.

I believe it was the same day that Scott McClelland got all stupid with the press, demanding an apology.

Normally when Rove gives a speech, there are several mentions of it.

And I saw or heard nothing. That is, until this morning.

Brian Lamb couldn't wait to cram that maggot's speech down everyone's throat.

Why not just hire the guy as one of CSpan's on-air "talent".

1. Did he say anything untoward, or just the usual BS? (n/t)

3. Someone did post something on DU about Rove on CSPAN...
...but I didn't click on the thread. Had the word "fascist" in the title, so anyone who wants to search for it will probably find it.

I didn't have any curiosity regarding his remarks...because when it comes to Rove, it really is one speech. Over and over and over, the same speech. Who needs it.

5. the mute button got a lot of work during this a.m.'s W.J. re: Rove

wonder how much money went into someone's pocket to feature Rove for one hour. when he didn't say anything different then he always says. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

but HIS crowd loves to hear every word.

it's kinda like the people that only listen to golden oldies music and think any other kind of music is radical.

6. Rove on 9/11
I wouldn't usually listen to Rove for 2 seconds, but I was flipping the other day & did catch a minute of what must have been this same speech(?)

He was asked the question "What was your worst day & best day in the White House?" After "joking" that the worst day is yet to come (his mouth to Fitz's ears) he said that the worst day was 9/11. Then he went on to talk about it in what I thought were really egocentric terms. I don't recall hearing any compassion for the victims. It was all about how it affected him. He said that normally when you get off of Air Force One, you are greeted by snappy salutes from soldiers in dress uniforms, but when they landed in Louisiana, they were met by soldiers in combat gear with loaded weapons.

He ALSO said that when he learned of the first plane hitting the World Trade Center, Bush was literally shaking hands at Booker Elementary as they had just arrived. I believe (I could be wrong) that he said that he told Bush about it.

Someone should find a transcript if possible and check that bit, given the various accounts of how Bush was told about the first plane.
