At the breaking point
I'm just about at my breaking point, guys. I read what Bush and his cronies are doing and I am so angry. But I am like so many people that I know--I do what is "comfortable" in the context of my own life. And I am proud of that little bit that I do. I commend myself for the fact that "at least I am informed." It's not enough. It's not near enough. It's nothing, in fact.

I've been thinking about how I can do more. And what direction to go in. I think I have an idea:

You know those signs that Dominoes Pizza and Papa Johns Pizza put on their delivery people's cars? They're removeable--you can put them on or take them off, depending on the situation.

I'm going to get one of those, big and bright, that says, "Bush lies!" I'm going to be my own little media station.

What do you think?

1. Write your congress critter about the delay for DeLay
That would be a positive contribution.

I like your sign idea too. I wonder how expensive that would be?

2. You really want to know what I think?
I think the fact that you are distressed about it shows that you have fallen victim to that which you fear.

They WANT you to feel upset.

They WANT you to feel frustrated.

What do you think?

I think I'm going to drive up into the mountains, then spend the rest of the morning shooting military weapons and setting off charges of high explosives before the rains arrive.

5. So what?
I don't care what "they" want. And if my feeling upset and frustrated makes me want to do something more, then they're the ones who are screwed, not me.

7. I haven't explained myself very well
You have been "terrorized".

By allowing yourself to feel as you do, you have let them win.

3. I saw a car with a sign like that on top
it said "Kerry/Edwards 2004". It was on an army base maybe a month ago. Some little old veteran had it and his car was full of democratic bumperstickers.

4. I wonder where he got it from?
Paying for something like this is the least of my worries. I am wondering how to find something like this.

Call the corporate offices of Pizza Hut or Domino's and ask where they get those signs made.

8. Step #1 Get out phone book
step #2. Open to signs

the rest should be self explanitory.

btw, franchises like pizza hut get their sighns from corporate so they won't be able to help you.

You can probably get it done for under $50.00

14. Here's a place that makes them--under $200
http://store.yahoo.com/accentgraphics/23macartomqu.html

They're called "car toppers." Wonder if I can find a place that sells a change-friendly sign?

16. good idea because
it would help some people fell less isolated and insecure, knowing that it might help you fell less isolated and insecure.
people do feel isolated and insecure because the 'public voice' (the media) don't reflect their feelings and concerns.
isolation and insecurity incapacitates people politically.
