As Michael Specter pointed out in The New Yorker last month, the Bush administration spends hundreds of millions of dollars touting the benefits of abstinence. Most abstinence-promoting programs waste the government's money funneling misinformation directly to adolescents. But one such group, the Medical Institute for Sexual Health, has another audience in mind—medical students.

1. I am glad I have a good one

and she told me last week if I were to get pregnant now, I might have to abort due to medical reasons, I might die from a pregnancy. Everyone should be aware that this scenario happens all over the country every single day. I am so sick of Bush and his evangelical cronies trying to get between me and my physician!

2. I don't understand why we can't make the comparison between

the US fundies and groups like the Taliban stick. When you start forcing your moral and religious viewpoint on others - you are exactly like the "bad guys." Just because the fundies look like you, doesn't make it any more desirable.

3. Dontcha just love the abstinence only training

for young fascists in training. The cute little spawns of evangelicals engage in every known sex act known to man except vaginal intercourse then tell mommy and daddy they are virgins. Ignorance truly is bliss.

4. I wonder

Do they tell married people that sex is wrong? If abstinace is best, then sex must be bad in general.
