CNN is a shame, again. Six-year old interviewed.
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 09:03 AM by spanone
You may have seen this. This morning they had the SIX YEAR OLD boy who called 911, was scolded for playing on the phone, and his mother died, in an interview segment WITH HIS LAWYER. This poor child was 'interviewed' by the ever so touched Soledad O'brien. This fucking kid just lost his mother last week and they have the nerve to put him on television and ask him if he was sad and such bullshit. Shame, shame, shame.

2. Don't blame CNN, blame the child's guardian
CNN's business is to do inappropriate stuff like that. Someone should be thinking of the child.

9. I do blame the childs guardian but I also blame CNN.
they should have told the guardians that this was inappropriate. Jeffrey Fieger, the ever-present tv attorney ought to have his ass kicked also.

3. very sad
He has been on LOTS of channels. The family is persuing a lawsuit (I don't blame them) and I am afraid they are using this little boy to garner sympathy.

4. Not necessarily defending CNN but ....
His attorney (whether you like the guy or not) is Jeffrey Feiger ... Feiger seeks out publicity for his "high profile cases" (and seeks to make his cases high profile) and was present at the poor little guys side.

This case is very deserving of attention ... we've all taught our children to call 911 in an emergency; not to have them scolded/ignored.

CNN, of course, was insensitive but my guess is that he was presented by his attorney to make a point (a valuable point, but at what cost to this child ....I don't know).

6. Maybe the lawyer should be chastised
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 09:13 AM by Bluzmann57
I mean he is the one going out to the media and hollering about lawsuits. So one must assume that it's him who is bringing the kid out there. That being said, I hope whatever the kid gets from a lawsuit, he gets to keep. Let's hope the lawyer doesn't take too much of it. After all, what does a six year old kid know about the amount of money he will almost certainly get? I would also like to hear the (former?) dispatcher's side of the story. She seems to have acted irresponsibly and one needs to know what was she thinking? Whatever it was, it was wrong.

10. Living in metro Detroit ...
Love or hate his attorney (Jeffrey Feiger) ... this is what the guy does. IMO, he was on the phone to CNN offering an interview with the child.

11. Unless I heard incorrectly this morning on GMA it was 2 different
dispatchers and they both scolded the child in the same irresponsible manner. He called and then called back approx. 3 hrs. later. Then it was mentioned that 17% of the 911 calls in Chattanooga, TN went unanswered, period.

7. Actually, I think they said this happened a few months ago...
maybe I misheard, but at the time I remember thinking how the kid at least had some "distance" and did not appear to be emotionally distressed. Still, seems a little young for that.

8. Don Henley had it right
Got the bubble headed bleached blonde
comes on at 5
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash
witha gleam in her eye
Its intresting when people die
Give us dirty laundry

Can we do the operation
is their head dead yet?
Know the boys in the newsroom
got a running bet
Get the widow on the set
We need dirty laundry
