Years Ago, Carlsbad Mayor Might Have Peppered Cheney
Associated Press

Carlsbad, New Mexico, Mayor Bob Forrest said he doesn't know for certain if he or his twin brother, Dick Forrest, fired the shot during the late 1990s that accidentally pelted Cheney, at the time the chief executive at the Halliburton company.

Bob Forrest joked that he and his brother are probably the only twins in the United States that have shot the vice president and never have gone to jail. The Albuquerque Journal reported the incident in a copyright story in Sunday's editions.

The shooting incident occurred on a ranch in southern New Mexico that was owned by the late Colin McMillan, an assistant secretary of defense under President George H.W. Bush.

Forrest recalls that Cheney wasn't hurt, but he was miffed. Forrest said Cheney was very offended and ordered the Forrest brothers to watch where they were shooting.

1. Idiots ...

These people should not be allowed to carry firearms.

I wonder if they've passed a firearms safety course. I bet not.

2. Miffed?
The arrogant prick probably didn't even give his own reaction a thought when he sent others to defend his shooting of Whittington (is that the guy's name?).

4. They aim at Al Qaida and hit Iraq...
...so I suppose shooting a man instead of a quail is the same thing. It's just a question of scale. :)

6. And he just got reelected....
Hell, I'll vote for him again next time knowing this (Yes, I know he's republican, but the guy who ran against him isn't exactly a favorite of mine either...basically a lesser of two evils thing).

I'm registered to vote in Carlsbad, NM still (in college in Las Cruces).
