He was a complete corporate shill, introducing the Nextel Cup Samsug 500!!!! In the goofy speech pattern where he sounds like he's repeating things he's just been told... Grrrrrr......... BTW: It was on tape!

They annouced it that it live via the Whitehouse and it was taped. Also you could hear the boos. Nascar quickly left the crowd and went to the tape. They only cheered when he finally said "Gentlemen start your engines. Things have got to be pretty bad when the Nascar crowd leaves you hanging. My oh my.

5. What I thought was funny was when he gave the Start Your Engines
command and no one started their cars.

I'll bet the NASCAR Daddies are pissed when it costs an extra hundred bucks for gas money to get to the track in their trick trucks.

7. I was just about to mention this, but I've been too
busy vomiting. I think the thing that bugged me the most was having to listen to that fuckin' invocation. "...and ahl-mahty father...perr-tekt thowz who'errr dahfending this gerr-ate kuntree." :puke: He also needed to say, "and please make it rain 100 bills so we can pay for this outrageous act of aggression in Iraq." Can't there be a car race without a bunch of political and religious bullshit? I guess not.

10. concern for our addiction to diminishing oil and Nascar: odd bedfellows
so his enthusiastic support for recreating by burning tons of oil and gas relates to his concern about our "addiction to oil" how???????
