Lou Dobbs is on Tweety's show
Love him or hate him the man can state his case and doesn't get caught in the spin of the opposition.

1. After Chris Matthews' little love fest last week with Tom DeLay,
I wouldn't watch if Jesus H. Christ was on.

And it was truly disgusting. I don't much care for that show anymore. Bring back the highest rated show of the time, Donahue.

7. I do not watch
but have found the whole Lou Dobbs thing interesting. I think CNN is just trying something new, like Faux news. But, when you put all your Easter eggs in one basket...

The Dangers Of Mixing News And Opinion À La Lou Dobbs

http://www.courant.com/features/lifestyle/hc-janensch0406.artapr06,0,1895056.story?track=rss

But on the matter of immigration, Dobbs has gone far beyond the "Cronkite moment" or his own pronouncements on the balance of trade. He is on a crusade. His diatribes about immigration permeate his 6 p.m. news program on the cable channel that calls itself "the most trusted name in news." He's no Walter Cronkite. He's another Bill O'Reilly.

With the slogan "Broken Borders" on the screen, he demands tighter security at our borders and rails against a Senate bill that contains a guest-worker plan for illegal aliens.

In a piece for the Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Dobbs wrote that illegal aliens impose a "crushing financial and economic burden" on American workers.

Those who cheer Dobbs on should listen carefully to what he is saying. He not only pummels liberals, Democrats, unions and Hispanic groups, he denounces President Bush, congressional Republicans who toe the administration's line on immigration, "corporate supremacists" and the Roman Catholic Church for advocating "amnesty, guest-worker programs and open borders."

IMHO, it is dangerous when those who report the news, also make the news.

9. He doesn't pummel unions
the immigration thing gets old,but he sticks up for the American worker he is the only one that does.To compare him to O'Reilly is really a bit extreme. He uses facts he doesn't say anything that outrageous and he's consistant. All the news shows on cable are not reporting they all have an element of opinion. From Keith to tweety to cooper and Wolfiwitz they all have opinion in them so to dismiss Lou because his opinion is included is just not fair.Lou is a good guy,you don't have to agree with everything someone says to watch a show.

15. Lou Dobbs sticks up for Lou Dobbs
He would turn on the American Worker as he has turned on the immigrant (legal or otherwise) if there were something in it for him. He uses RW talking points. If you watched Boehner on This Week, the two sounded amazingly the same. The RW talking point for today happens to be border security now and the amnesty thing later. This will drive the wedge further into the Democratic plan, they think. And this is exactly what Dobbs was saying.

If this particular thing doesn't work out for CNN, watch Lou Dobbs return to the milk toast business reporter he once was.

17. It's also the talking points of the labor union's.
Protecting American workers.Illeagal immigrants stunt wages whether they are jobs no one would take or not.His immigration policy has never changed I have never heard him flip flop on an issue.I know he sometimes sides with repugs, but I know he sticks up for the middle class and workers especially you won't see the union bashing on his show that goes on in this forum, and he will never be ok with free trade. Those two things alone make him worthy of his time slot.

20. Lou defended Bush on the Libby "leak" issue, sounding like a Bushbot
he is an idiot, probably a racist. We like him because he disagrees with Bush on one issue.

His defense on the leak story showed how he is either: 1. a Bushbot, saying whatever he thinks will support his boy; or 2. An idiot.

His defense of Bush? We don't know if what is in these court papers is true or not. (rolling eyes) Sheesh, if Bush didn't tell Cheney or if Cheney didn't tell Libby why are they coming up with these stupid excuses like: some leaks are good, some are bad or we didn't tell him to leak Plame's name blah, blah, blah.

Dobbs is a Bushbot who happens to hate immigration. (I admit to being against unregulated immigration and tend to agree with Dobbs on this issue although I think he fails to recognize the legal chidren of illegals or the simple solution, punish the employers.)

21. He has bashed Bush for the last
3 months straight! He is no Bushbot.Go ahead and do a post,Is Lou Dobbs a Bushbot? I'd be interested to see the results.I agree with him on more than one issue. There are few things that I disagree with him about. He's not the ultimate democrat but he's far from right wing.

22. his defense of bush on the leak was a bushbot defense
he's either a bushbot or an idiot.

For the last 3 months he has criticized Bush on immigration. Bush's position on immigration is NOT hard right. Dobbs' is. Dobbs is against Bush on this issue because Bush is not right wing enough.

Did you watch Dobbs prior to 3 months ago? Of course not because he is a right wing corporatist. He is the classic example of a stopped clock, right twice a day. Do you even agree with him on this current issue, immigration, or do you just like him now because he says bad things about Bush.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the support on changing the way people think about this admin but there is danger if the rest of the message is wrong. McCain is the perfect example of that. Yes, he will stand up for what is right IF it doesn't hurt his party and just look at him now. Kissing up to the religious right AND voting to make the tax cuts permanent. Creep. Trust me, you'll be saying that about Dobbs too before too long. He's a party man and he'll support it when it matters.

23. I like him because he stands up
for the American middle class.I don't really have a hard stance on immigration I'm torn between the two sides.I have watched Lou for years. He calls the corporations out for there selling out of Americans.I have never seen lou take the religious right side.He is a libertarian so that may explain why his views don't always Jibe. Thanks for the debate but I got to get outside I live in WI and we have had very few nice days to enjoy this year so I have to enjoy em when they are there.Keep up the fight.
