Wes Clark's "Common Voices" speak out on Global Warming!
Calling Common Voices: Global Warming

Hey everyone,

We need folks to volunteer to speak on this month's topic: global warming. We are looking for people willing to record a statement on any and all the following:

How do you believe climate change has already affected your life today?

How have you changed your lifestyle to try to help the cause of slowing global warming?

This year's Earth Day celebration is focused on climage change. What do you plan to do on Earth Day?

Wes Clark believes the significant consequences of global warming: more severe weather (like Katrina), rising of sea levels displacing populations, and the negative impact of agriculture will create conflicts between nations and affect the use of the military. Consquently, he believe global warming is a national security issue. What are your thoughts on this position?

Make an Earth Day resolution!

Please send me a note if you're interested. And feel free to pass this around and tell folks to contact me at [email protected] .

It's really easy to record. We just have you call into a phone number (501 area code) and record it like leaving a message.

I need your help!

Thanks,
Larry

1. It's certainly getting hotter...
and not just in the weather. Interestingly, that was the first thing Shrub did (that I noticed) that was just beyond the pale (rejecting the Kyoto Protocol). On reflection, it was an obvious prediction that he wouldn't agree--it would cost Corporations alot and demand increased government regulation AND, it wouldn't harm the environment (and he likes to do that).

5. "Common Voices" is part of the podcast program, ClarkCast
The ClarkCast is a weekly podcast from SecuringAmerica.com and Wes Clark, discussing and seeking solutions to the challenges of democracy in our modern world. In the first of a series, citizens talk about America's Beacon of Hope and how the policies of the past five years have affected them personally.

It's where we can talk about how the Bushco years have affected our lives in the past five years.

Tell it like it is. Email Larry for the phone number to call in.

6. I assume there will be a series of podcasts on the environment
The first set was a synopsis of Clark's "Real State of the Union" address. It was followed by a "Common Voices" cast on how the State of the Union is affecting individuals' lives. Next came an interview with Nick Lampas on the same general subject, but showcasing his race against DeLay and how important it is to repair the state of the union by electing Democrats in 2006 (since Clark is all about 06). And finally sort of a wrap-up podcast that used parts of the first three but had some new information too.

Clark has been putting out his podcasts weekly so far. I hope his travel/work/campaign schedule will allow him to keep to that rather ambition timing. But if there's a pattern, I'd assume we'll get a statement from him on global warming and climate change, then the "Common Voices" they're working to collect now, and maybe another interview with another key Democratic candidate for Congress.

7. it's particularly important when only WES gets it that we should NEVER be
silenced, let alone be castigated when we speak up in dissent of the way the busheviks have sullied OUR country -- and, there's nothing like speaking truth to power from our personal experiences!

8. I'd love to hear him on FOX broach the subject of climate change
as a threat to national security!! I imagine they'd freak....particularly Hannity. Yeah, go tell that to Hannity!!!

9. The republicans want dirty fossil-fuel money
that can be funneled back into their coffers. New money that would result from clean energy would definately flow in the opposite direction. So here we are: forced to watch massive hurricanes, and melting Greenland. All of this damage adds up to enough campaign cash to pay off the high bidders. I wonder if Mother Nature hates these fuckers as much as I do.

I wish I could sound coherent about the damage being done to the planet, but I would just go off on some crazy tangent like: why would anyone think living in a dirty world was a good idea.
